My understanding is he quit cold turkey. 2 days later he passed. Liver and kidney failure. Alcohol can become physically dependent, and when one does go cold turkey, the body can go in to shock. A friend of mine, his father suffered from the same issue. Locked him self in a room and quit. 3 days later he died from a massive heart attack.

I do not know of any advice to answer your question. But if you get physical withdrawal symptoms from drinking, you probably need to be tapered off alcohol under medical supervision.

Apevol, if you have a problem with alcohol, please take this time to get a handle on it. Sober life will be better. I'm sure you're a good man, and we don't need to have another story like that of Cyclops. If you need to do it, don't put it off any longer. Please take action.
