Anyone else missing some of their favorite shows do to this writers strike thing. Conan, Colbert, and Jon Stewart reruns are already getting old. I'm gonna be glad when they comeback but they said it could be moths because the want it to affect the sitcoms too.

supposedly the Office's last show is this week. I hate what has become of current TV. Every show could be a rerun and unless it airs on the Discovery Channel, I would have no idea.

I would probably be just as satisfied if the networks would start running Cheers, Seinfeld and Coach all from season one. Throw in a little Northern Exposure, and I have another few years of TV to look forward to.

It can go on for years for all I care. I get my fix on sports and cartoons(reruns are fine). Other than that I don't watch much TV.

My wife works with the parents of a couple of writers for The Office....maybe we can just ask them nicely to ask their kids to stop striking :)

the office is just as bad as the rest of TV. it started off good, but declined last year, and I've seen three of this year's shows and just shook my head.

I'm with Rex. As long as he keeps M*A*S*H with the old shows. New TV is just plain bad.

EDIT. Good to see I'm not the only one who enjoys Coach. Dauber and Luther were hilarious.

Coach was my show back in the day. Monday nights right before Monday Night Football on ABC.

Jumped the shark when he went to the Orlando Breakers, but still had some solid shows.

So Conan, Colbert and Jon Stewart aren't funny unless they're reading someone else's material?

I know that's how it always works in Hollywood, but doesn't that say something about the talent in front of the camera?

Is Colbert just another dork from South Carolina? Conan just another obnoxious red haired geek? Stewart your typical first class a**hole?

Probably so. So whatever the writers are striking for, I hope they get it since they are the ones who are actually entertaining.

Typically the hosts are also with the writing team. I know Stewart and Conan are both writers. Conan even wrote for SNL when it was still funny. I would imagine Colbert writes for his show as well, but I don't know that for fact. However, it takes a team of at least 5 writers or more to put the material together for a show and weed out what is funny to them compared to what is funny to a national audience.

Colbert does help write his show. That is a fact. Colbert and Stewart have both wrote books that i have heard are very good. Id say that should tell you that they do some of there own stuff.

Colbert, Stewart, O'Brian, et al will also be off due to the strike because they are loyal to their writers and won't cross the picket line.

The writers are in the right on this one, and hopefully the group that encompasses the networks/cable companies will realize it soon.

They want a bigger piece of DVD sales and a percent of
internet downloading sales which they apparently get none of.
