There were so many Tennessee fans there that it was evident as I was listening on the radio. On one of the offensive possessions they snapped the ball and I heard the crowd get excited and thought MSU had a big play—-I then hear a Mike Keith saaaackkk and realized it was the massive amount of our fans cheering.

People underestimate the power of West Tennessee Vols fans when it comes to road games at Arkansas, MSU, Ole Miss
So much this: West TN Vols are as passionate as East TN Vols, only difference is we can't make it to Neyland 6-7 times a year, so if there's a road game in the Memphis/Oxford/Starkville/Arkansas area, you can bet your a** we'll be there! 😂

They definitely were trying to drown us out anytime we started singing rocky top. Not sure if it was because they didn’t want to hear it or because they were also trying to ring the bells when we were lining up the extra point kick. I do know after the game when everybody was singing “it’s great to be a TN Vol” they absolutely tried drowning us out.

My sister went and I text her after one of the early TD's and told her to let any MSU fans around her know the cowbells were not drowning out Rocky Top on the tv.
I was two sections over from the band, and rarely heard them, granted they only brought the small pep band, but it was hard to hear State's band, they played too much other nonsense over the speakers. The only time I truly heard the band was at the end, when we won.

We drove from mid Tennessee, crazy game, great trip! Great tailgate atmosphere and State fans were overall very nice.
No issues.
Go Vols!
Did they have any true tailgating there? I didn't notice any but the tents all lined up near the stadium, kind of like Ole Miss and the Grove.

But agreed, great trip and State fans were nice!

Well, we were at the Vol Club tailgate to start, we had a connection on parking and could have tailgated there as well, but didn't, there were people tailgating in that area tho. We stayed in the junction area, I think it's called....
We actually met some Oklahoma fans (dressed as state fans) that were there, that were friends of some of the coaches that left okie for state. They had a 65inch tv, tent and chairs and we hung with them until close to kickoff. They were great, and hope to see them when Okie comes to Knoxville.
