Would you take 38 points vs Bama

If you gave me that right now, I’d say our average wins the game in Tuscaloosa. Everyone will want to pile on the defense “they’ll give up 50”, but our defense has been consistent in one area specifically and that’s been forcing turnovers in timely areas.

We also lead the league in sacks so we are getting noticeable pressure time and time again.

I think it also helps Simpson won’t be as much of a running threat like we just dealt with last night.

Tennessee scoring:

41 against Georgia
41 against Miss State
34 against Arkansas

38 PPG

Bama scoring:

24 against Georgia
30 against Vandy
27 against Mizzou

27 PPG

as long as they have 37 or less.... LOL

Lol. You make sound we aren’t luckily squeaking out wins and turning a win into a loss.

No I’m not. Our defense has playmakers on it. So far we have been consistent in generating a rush to coverup the slow linebacker play and the ass safety play in pass coverage.

If we continue to generate a pass rush, that helps the rest of the defense that can be ass.

Luckily, Simpson won’t be as mobile as Green so I would like to think slow ass Telander can clean up

Usually the better the opponent, the less likely they are to turn the ball over...or commit an inordinate number of penalties. Well coached teams usually don't make a ton of mistakes so I'm not sure how much you can count on the turnovers continuing. Hopefully Banks and Heupel can figure this out. If that level of defense continues, we might not win more than a couple of more games at most.
That's true but when u can get after the QB you are way more likely to force turnovers and it doesn't matter how well coached the other team is.

Playmakers? Negative. I'd say we are more opportunistic. Decent off of the edge, at times. But there isn’t a playmaker on that side of the ball. Not any ballhhawks either.

You have not watched a single game if you think that Joseph and West haven’t been consistently pressuring and getting to the quarterback game after game with big impacts.

You just are not a serious person if you think we don’t have some dudes on the defensive line. We have to be the first team to be leading the league in sacks without playmakers.

My god you people can be miserable sometimes.

If Hype doesn't slow the offense down i think we will score more than 38 against Bama, but no telling how much they will score though

Based on what? Alabama hasn’t shown they can score that much in league play. And you’d have to think our defense basically doesn’t touch the quarterback or force turnovers.

Essentially, you’re saying that Bama is gonna play a perfect game for us to HAVE TO score 40+
LOL. They won’t have to play perfect to but up those numbers against this defense. That’s the thing you’re not grasping.

Sure they will. You are basically saying that Alabama can just stroll out and hang 40 like it’s no issue.

Yet at the same time you’re saying that our defense which leads the league in sacks and is T2 in takeaways will just roll over.

The mentality of some of yall is insane. Yall are acting like we are going against Prime Nick Saban Alabama.

I'll tell you exactly how I think it will go based on our 3 SEC games. Alabama will jump to a 7 nothing lead and never look back. We move the ball down the field but can't score. We bust a few 10 yd runs here and there but nothing is consistent on offense. We score a couple of field goals in the first half. We go to half time down 28 to 6 or 9. We come out looking iffy after halftime but get down the field on one of the first 2 possessions and get a touchdown but they answer immediately and start pounding sand up our a$$. They know we have to pass the ball to catch up so they sit on our routes and pick us off a couple times. We lose 40- 23.
Pretty negative take. I know. But as much as I love our guys, we aren't winning this game. We're going to get exposed this weekend. You don't walk into bama's home field with a poor defense and a gimmicky offense and steal a win. I'm going to get torched for posting this. but I just feel it in my bones. I would love to be wrong and eat crow. Crow is my favorite meal.

imo we can still win out, but hype has to keep the pedal to the metal on offense and not rely on defense to stop opponents. Just keep doing what you do on offense at the beginning of the game for the full 4 quarters.
