I can understand what you're saying though I can't really relate. I always feel fortunate about my upbringing when I hear terrible stories from the less fortunate.
Still, seems like a very chivalrous ideology, i.e. unfair. Jmo.
I'll openly admit it probably is to a degree on my part. Not being able to stop it when I was a kid definitely contributes to my thought process in these cases. I always look to protect now, cause I couldn't then. Sorry for getting all heavy in here. Lol
I will say it's not always the smartest thing to intervene. I was at a bar and this guy back handed his gf and snatched her by her hair, naturally I rush over and push him. We exchange words and I push him again, next thing I know this crazy chick is on my back slapping me telling me to leave him alone. Needless to say I'm a little more cautious now. Lol
