Would you like to play Wake Forest

No. If you win, it's meaningless...you beat Wake. If you lose, you lost to Wake. It would probably look bad if you don't blow them out. Does not matter how their season went or what step level of the rebuild Vols are on. Nobody outside our respective fanbases follows either program closely enough to deeply analyze the match up.

If you have a defensive lineman (or linemen) who can get semi-regular pressure, then it disrupts their entire offense with no time to run their slower players.

Also Wake just fell apart in probably the school’s last chance to ever win a major conference championship game (if/when the ACC Grant of Rights expires and the Big 10 decides to invite UNC and another ACC school, were the ACC to end up falling apart then Wake Forest isn’t finding itself in another Power 5 conference).

pretty much 2 pick 6s in the last 2 offensive plays after Hartman’s gotten hit every other to every third play all day.

Their Offense is too explosive like ours, but their defense is better and deeper. For optics and recruiting, we need a bowl win. I’d rather flex our strengths in a year or two and for now just take an easier, more impressive looking win against a crappy Big 10 team

you realize their D is not good at all……right?

Their scoring D is 91st……11 spots below Tennessee.

Their total defense is 100th……15 spots below Tennessee.

Wake’s rushing D is 118th…..very bad, they give up 210 rushing yards per game……..Tennessee is a really good rushing offense……19th ……..over 210 per game.

Tennessee would have a HUGE advantage simply from those two stats.
