YES! Since his name has been swirling the last several hrs I did some research on him and watch some Purdue games of this season. Purdue was in EVERY game. Had Michigan on the ropes until the 4th qtr. Beat the brakes off Mizzou in Mizzou.

He can develop players (especially QB's) and coach on Game day. He is a younger version of bobby Petrino without the baggage.

Who is Jeff Brohm? 5 things to know about Purdue's new coach

If we’re getting a coach for 3-4 million, I want Kiffin. No, I don’t approve.

Yes, he’d be better than Jones and miles better than Schiano.

I want an $8 million coach. Minimum. Patterson and Peterson are where you start. Offer them $8 million with total control. If they say no, ask them again. If they say no again, give them $9 million. If they say no again, ask again. If they say no again, give them $10 million and so on.

Are any of our rivals quivering in their boots when they here that Jeff Brohm is gonna be our coach? No. Grow some balls, UT.

But alas, Jimmy Haslam is a cancer and won’t let our boosters do their damn jobs. F*** him.

$6-8MM coaches ain't coming here. Had shot at the Mullet. Let's say I'm making $4MM per year, and sign on for $6MM. And then say it goes south after 5 years (which has been trend), and then I've got a coordinator job somewhere making $500K. $30MM over five years, plus $1.5MM for 3 years as coordinator is $31.5MM over 8 years vs $4MM plus raises for 8 is minimum $32MM. I've avoided fishbowl and am a hero where I'm at with stable lifestyle, while making, at minimum the same $.

Granted, we don't want someone who's afraid to succeed, but point is, when weighing the positives and negatives, we've got some perceived baggage that isn't helping us.

Here's the thing. The right coach...and there's not just one right coach...think Brohm could be, will realize the truly great fans we have, and great traditions. We just need someone to come in and win some games. Most successful coaches are headstrong, and don't back down from challenges. UT's a challenge right now, but ceiling is high...just like Brohm...from what I've read.

He will never beat Florida, Georgia or Alabama. This is a fact. If you can live with these 3 lost games then he's a great choice. But learn to live with all of these lost games each year. Will never win the East, but I guess that what our University wants.

No it's not. It hasn't happened. Until he comes and goes without winning those games, it will not be a fact.

Taggart built wku, not Brohm

Taggart is good recruiter but a terrible developer.

Taggart didn't know offense either. He buried Brandon Doughty on the depth chart.

Brohm's first year he inserts Doughty into his system. Almost 3K passing yards. Second year: 4800 yds and 49 TDs. Third year (BD got a sixth year): 5000 yds 48 TDs

Mike White (not a Taggart recruit) transferred from USF where he was abysmal. First and only year with Brohm: 4400 yds and 37 TDs.

JG will be saying Schiano who?

I'm not necessarily excited by this hire but I would be willing to except the bet that UT wins at least one of these games in the next 3 years.

If the administration is willing to spend $7 million a year on a coach, we can do MUCH better than Brohm!

Don't forget the West crossover game. It will be Auburn next year. 8-4 is the ceiling unless we can catch a Mississippi team in a down year.

Not unless someone teaches him to let go of the damn ball. McBride or someone else will get the nod. You can't hold the ball and wait for a receiver to come open in that type of offense.

For the people who don't want Brohm? What is your reasoning for people who may not know?

IDK...Just feels like another railroad job from the PTB...

outside of that...he seems to be someone that we'll have to give "name" money and buyout to, that is really an "up and comer"

he left us at the altar as a player...hes tied to Bev...Currie is interviewing...where do you want me to stop? TBH...I prolly won't trust ANY name floated or hired while it's Currie interviewing...and this is like my 3rd post...sooo TIFWIW

I said when they fired Jones, my top 3 are:

Matt Campbell
Jeff Brohm
Chad Morris

Somehow they got off chasing rainbows and lollipops and look where they are now with two black eyes and a ass-whoopin by the national media.

Texas, LSU, Florida, USC, even Notre Dame couldn't hire successful Power 5 coaches at their last hire yet our fan base (and administration) thinks the line to come to Knoxville is long and deep with top coaches. Forget it people. You gotta work to find a good coach, develop him and give him the reasons to stay. Look at Jimbo. He's really not thinking of going to A&M as much as he's leaving FSU. I think in the end, he'll regret it but he's doing it out of spite.
And thank god your not our AD

Dude appears to be an offensive and QB guru. Know UF was on his trail hard, and fans wanted him. Can you imagine their disdain if "fun and gun" comes north to Knoxville and UF flounders? Think Mullen OK too, but am liking more I'm reading about him.

If we get him, Sunday could have proved to be the turning point from Rock Bottom. Somebody could make a fortune writing a book documenting the back office handling of Currie hiring, Butch firing and Schiano, w/ end result coming out very well.

I don't approve. Just because I like him right where he is.

If it happens though, I do believe he will do great things at UT.

Yes, this is a good hire. Lots of low football IQ guys and gals are disapproving. The guy can coach, a Petrino protege with none of the baggage. For the low football IQ guys and gals do some research before protesting and starting petitions and #emptyneyland stuff.

Jeff Brohm is a great X's and O's coach very passionate about football and his players love playing for him UT football just got exciting again

Exactly why our fan base is the laughingstock of the nation. He hasn’t played a game against any of those teams as the coach of UT, yet you say this a FACT. Might want to look up the definition of fact before you start slinging it around so loosely. Whoever becomes our coach, we as fans owe him the decency of allowing him to actually coach a few games before we declare him a failure!!! SMH
