PIck the worse loss of the Pruitt Era. Georgia State is tempting, but I Gotta pick the curb-stomp by Kentucky ( a bad team themselves). Losing by 27 points to a team that was a 6 point dog is unforgivable.
Ok guys there are a lot to pick from- lets hear (read) it. It's like kid in a candy store. A target-rich environment .
It happened with Dooley. It happened with Butch. It happened with Pruitt. We will probably go get another name about 15-20 spots down our short list for the next coach.when I think about it....the 5 that stand out have the basic overall value in common....which is a lack of effort.
In those games, Tennessee did not show up (2018 Vandy), quit (2020 Kentucky) or folded (2019 Georgia State, 2019 BYU, 2020 Arkansas).
They had halftime leads against Georgia State, Arkansas and BYU. Teams that you would argue Tennessee had a talent and depth advantage over.
But, effort was a factor in all of them.
So, it’s clear that he hasn’t corrected whatever cultural issues exist
What’s almost as damning is trying to pick the best win of the Pruitt era. It would have to be auburn or Ky. So few to choose from. Or try finding a coaching moment where he looked like a legit coach
