Army in 1986 might have been worse.
Rutgers when I was a kid.

Those were bad....REAL BAD! I sat through both of those atrocities.
Today, we were 26½ point favorites.
The worst loss ever? In 1988 I sat in Neyland, and watched Wash. St. hang a then NCAA record for offensive yardage on us. That game was the worst to watch. We lost 52-24

At least that was because of a fluke play. Wyoming just manhandled us in Knoxville. I say this one is the worst.
We had a vastly superior team to Memphis, and that loss cost us a big payday. It was a fluke play, but it should have never been that close.
Did you say Wyoming MANHANDLED us? Their only scores were early Christmas gifts from St. Nick. Our offense couldn't score at the Bunny Ranch with a platinum AmEx.
That was it. He sat there until we won. We went 0-6, then went 5-0 in the last 5 games.I think we were in major rebuilding mode in 1988. I think that we were playing a lot of freshmen that year. Wasn't that the season some moron said he'd sit on a billboard til we won and we went 0-8 to start the year?
