Army in 1986 might have been worse.

Rutgers when I was a kid.

Those were bad....REAL BAD! I sat through both of those atrocities.

Today, we were 26½ point favorites.

The worst loss ever? In 1988 I sat in Neyland, and watched Wash. St. hang a then NCAA record for offensive yardage on us. That game was the worst to watch. We lost 52-24

Ouch!!! I had almost forgotten that game!

I say this one is the worst ever, because we got absolutely DOMINATED physically by a team that was widely regarded as one of the worst in D1 football. Now we have earned that title.

I didn't even know a team from here could be capable of doing that, even back then.

At least that was because of a fluke play. Wyoming just manhandled us in Knoxville. I say this one is the worst.

We had a vastly superior team to Memphis, and that loss cost us a big payday. It was a fluke play, but it should have never been that close.

Did you say Wyoming MANHANDLED us? Their only scores were early Christmas gifts from St. Nick. Our offense couldn't score at the Bunny Ranch with a platinum AmEx.

Why hasn't Coleman gotten a chance? Is he THAT far behind the others? In '87, Jeff Francis got hurt, Randy Sanders came in & struggled mightily. Majors then put in Sterling Henton. While he didn't set the world on fire, I believe he didn't lose a game he started that year either.

I think we were in major rebuilding mode in 1988. I think that we were playing a lot of freshmen that year. Wasn't that the season some moron said he'd sit on a billboard til we won and we went 0-8 to start the year?

Tiger High '96 - Peyton Manning loses to a team that couldn't line up in the KIL

Alabama '90 - the 9-6 debacle

Dook '82 - SOS schools the Vols for the first time

USC '81 - a friend of mine commented that even including time outs, halftime and when the Vols had the ball, So. Cal moved the ball at an average of 5mph.

N. Texas State '75 - In the rain, in Knoxville

That was it. He sat there until we won. We went 0-6, then went 5-0 in the last 5 games.

We were pretty well hyped before the season. I remember after that 6th loss. I would have puked if I heard one more talking head say "this is the best 0-6 team in the nation".

It was totally different than this year. We actually had talent. It just seemed like wheels came off in every game. Coaches, fans, sports announcers, and everyone were scratching their heads over it.
