Worst case for TN

So there are rumors that Saban is considering going back to the NFL for the NY Giants job.

Was actor/comedian Tom Arnold (gasp) right about Nick Saban and the Giants?

If this is true, I think a worst case for TN is Saban leaves after the CFB playoffs, and Bama gets CJP to come back home to Bama as their HC.

You know he would take it. We would then be left again without a head coach just a few weeks before National signing day.....

Hope this doesn't happen but its a risk when you hire a Bama grad and Saban likely only has a limited time left at Bama. Someone will need to replace him.

Of course all this is speculative and unlikely. For conversation's sake though, if Bama steals CJP 5 or 6 years down the road and CJP has a chance to rebuild TN first - fine. But if it happens in a similar way to Kiffin - only a year or two in to the rebuild - it could crush us again...

Hope the first part happens but CJP stays.

So you think the guy that got hired about a week ago is going to leave next month?

Best case would be Saban leaves, Bama comes calling for CJP and he turns them down because he knows it would be a nightmare to be the guy that replaces saban given no one will be able to match what he has done.

I've got a friend in the astronomy dept. who says there's a chance a big space rock could hit us and wipe out the entire 2018 season. Just sayin' - probably won't happen. Still..

Oh.. and check for raydon. That stuff is a killer.

I don't see Dabo going to Bama. He has been at Clemson now so long he has his own history there.

That's the one and only job he leaves Clemson for.And he's been asked about it and has never denied he would take the Ala job. He bleeds Crimson and White like Fulmer does Orange and White.

He will have to wait behind Gruden for a few months to see if he is taking the job or not. LOL

A couple of solid drama free football seasons and a few great recruiting classes and then maybe that will help cure my BVS symptoms. Its a long recovery guys.

LOL.

If Dabo wins another title this year, that means he beat Bama to do so. He'd easily be able to walk into Bama to open arms from people if he had two natty rings that involved beating Bama in back to back years. However, if he only has one Natty ring when Saban retires, Dabo prolly wouldn't follow Saban. No reason to follow the guy.

You started a thread about a rumor based on a statement from a Comedian? Nice

And based on a statement made in 2016? Lol....no wonder people believed the Grumors, we believe anything round herrr.

Tom Arnold is not a comedian. That would require him to be funny.

So the guy who has no experience and was a reach hire for UT is suddenly the leading candidate for Bama before even coaching a game? Ya, sure buddy.

Why and who would leave a position where they believe a guy walks on water, could run for governor and win, and makes the cash he makes, and trades that for NY weather, NY traffic, NY idiots, and a team that is a bottom dweller? In my wildest dreams, I can't see that happening. Oh, and in view of the whole NY scene, remember, Mama has to be happy also. If mama isn't happy, nobody is happy.

No way does Bama go after CJP. If Dabo says no then there are others available. He is ours for a while good or bad.

There’s no way he says no. He laughed it off last time he was asked and followed it up with a huge smile

He’s one of if not the only coach with a winning record against Saban

doubt St. Nick is willing to go down that NFL road again...gets bumpy with in an old jalopy...think he likes the big Caddy he's in now...smooth...:)

GO VOLS!
