Hey guys, I had to work that day, and didn't get to watch the game . And after I found out that we had lost, I just didn't have the heart to watch a re-run of the VOLS losing. Is there a link where I could watch this play ?

They should not be allowed to ref another game in the SEC or HS. That's what I would expect from volunteer Pop-Warner refs and even then I would be surprised.

How about that Velus Jones catch on like third and 5? It was the one where it looked like he easily got it, they ruled it short, we ran a quick play, got the first down, but they blew the whistle to review. That to me was just as big as anything because we punted.

It's really a shame when the officials make a game changing bad call and it should be investigated and reviewed by the game time refs. I don't think Heupel will file a complaint, though. I don't think that's his style.
I have been an assistant referee on soccer matches ( high level amateur men ) where the referee made a game changing BAD decision, and he never got a good game again. Ever.... In the English Premier League, a serious fu#$ @% and your CAREER is pretty much over. Why can't big time NCAA ditch some of these guys?

I've already stated my opinion...The whistle didn't blow, play is alive until you hear the whistle and they had plenty of time to blow whistles and stop the play, they didn't.
You don't get to say well we meant to blow the whistle but didn't. That wasn't one of those plays that you let playout and review later to fix.

Another reason to blow the whistle is to keep someone from getting hurt...

Here’s what I think happened. The refs couldn’t hear and assumed one of them whistled the play dead or something in order to keep ole miss drive alive. However, the play wasn’t dead and they realized that and to cover their butts they made up new rules that would take back the touchdown.

I haven't read every post of every thread discussing this play, but I haven't seen anyone point this out, so here:

The refs completely screwed this and have no leg to stand on. Remember when refs used to have quick whistles and would ruin strip-six plays by whistling they thought the knee was down before the fumble? The authorities fixed such by telling them to not blow a whistle, let the play finish, then rule that "the ruling on the field of down by contact is under review." Then, if the replay rules he wasn't down, the defensive TD can stand.

On this play, the refs didn't whistle and chased the play all the way to the end zone. They know that "forward progress stopped" isn't reviewable. So.....why would they chase the play? You only do that if there might be a review of the knee. No ref has ever chased a play he intended to rule "progress stopped."

Garbage refs.

We lost three games this year because of f**** terrible refs. No WAY Bama or Ohio St doesn’t get those calls and it’s BS. We scored a TD in OT ANd Tillman got held on PI in regulation. Idc if our players “could’ve played better”. The refs directly took that win away from us

Despite the best efforts of the referees at the game tonight I did not storm the field and commit murder. This was the most offensive excuse for refereeing I've ever seen in my entire life.

I'm now going out to dinner at Ruth's Chris and then I'm going to seek psychological counseling for the rest of my life.

Holy @#&* where's the Tylenol.
