Worst Bray quote from post-game

I saw over 100k fans bring it yesterday, and paid damn good money to do so, shut the hell up about the fans.

The fact that 100k people continue to show up for that pile of garbage is a testament to a pretty strong fanbase that is loyal.

Dooley and the team quits, the fans are the only ones who haven't.

When the team looks up in the stands at the beginning of the 4th quarter and they see the fans piling out of there by boat loads, what message does that send? Game must be over.......everybody is leaving. Thats no excuse but we as fans should do what we can to help send the message that its not over till its over.

Couldn't agree more. That was the loudest I have heard Neyland in years. The upper deck was literally shaking. The fans gave their ALL for Tennessee. The fans have every right to be upset.

We had entire rows in the North upper deck stomping their feet. Even the gray hairs were raising hell. Yet Bray still quit. The team deserves our support....AJ, Herm, and Curt deserve our support. The WR's deserve our support for going all out for 44 pass plays. There are a lot of reasons to continue to support our team, Bray IS NOT one of them.

I remember the infamous "u-turn back to Neyland Stadium" years ago when we were playing UF and fans started leaving only for the Vols to comeback and win. Some of our fans have a history of leaving early when things get tough -- heck, a lot even leave when we're winning. A part of it has to do with the traffic nightmare due unique to UT's location and some has to do with the size of the stadium drawing a lot of people who aren't necessarily hardcore fans (with that many seats it happens).

However, much more of it can't be excused. That simply wouldn't happen at Bammer.

But like I said teams have rallied before when fans quit on them and ultimately our team, especially Bray, quit as soon as UF went up a score.

Did Bray quit before or after he hit J. Hunt across the middle on 3rd down for what looked to be a sure 1st down until the oddest thing happened, he didnt catch the ball. I guess Hunter quit before that play. C. Patterson must have quit before the deep pass that he should have caught. Nobody quit, things just didnt go our way. JMO

The fanbase has the same attitude. Losers on the team. Losers in the stands. I've seen some sorry football and some sorry fans over the last few years at UT.
The players are kids. What is the fans excuse? The fans have been much more embarrassing than the team. That looks bad to recruits and the TV audience. Why come to the game in the first place? Not to support our team it seems. Bad fans suck.

were you there?

No way on earth bray goes pro!!! Theres some pro talent on this team but he isn't one of em.. Maybe the ladies league but don't think he'd look as good n ladies clothes.. Besides at 5'7 228 lbs & 45 yrs of age I've got a good a chance goin pro as Bray...Casey claussen was a better qb

casey was a warrior... he won at bama, the swamp, notre dame, miami..etc.... cupcake beat vandy at home in overtime. yea cupcake.

i would hate to be akron this week. bray and the dropsey twins are going to light the zips up and declare they are back...until georgia shows and shuts us out. but the good news is we will not miss an extra point against the bulldogs since we will not score a TD.

hart will get the message when bama rolls into town and 50% of neyland is crimson and white.

I'm a short timer on here, but I think this is an important contrast to make.

"It was just not responding," Bray said. "We knew we were going to be ones to stop ourselves. We just fell apart ... It was the same kind of thing that happened last year."

-Tyler Bray

"I promise you one thing. A lot of good will come out of this. You will never see any player in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of the season. You will never see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push everybody the rest of the season. You will never see a team play harder than we will the rest of the season."

-Tim Tebow

The difference is leadership. So far at least, Bray is not a leader. In fact, I can't point to one on the entire team.

Nothing to flame there... Spot on IMO. The closest thing we have to a leader is Lathers and he can't stay healthy long enough to make a difference....

This. And why should we as a fanbase implicitly trust Dooley et al.? The fact that we as fans are scared of --and on some levels expect-- losing is not a product of us being mentally weak or psychological pansies who don't deserve to win. It is that we recognize --rightly-- that those out there on the field are those things. We support them as best we can, but in the end have realistic expectations given the group we're sending into battle.

U guys need to grow up it's just a football game. Tennessee Vols will be here now and forever whether your a fan or not so quit cryin about losing 1 game and move on. If it kills you that bad quit watching or attending the games.

We didn't just lose one game. We lost one decade. There is a difference.

I've been trying to say this, the uf game he showed his leadership skills or lack of. I never saw him adjust the play at the line. He did try to straighten tiny out and get his head back in the game. His attitude was horrible when the game turned for the worse.

In the fourth quarter, we should have seen some sort of attempt from Bray to pick this team up and pick up from the first half. Instead we saw a brat, who didn't get what he wanted so he gave up.

Can somebody confirm. I heard Todd Kelly talking about Bray leaving the field without shaking hands with the Gators. Took his ball and went home so to speak. Anybody else hear this?

Worst offensive game plan I've seen since Sanders had the job. Blaming Bray is fine, but ultimately it's the coaches job to put them in the position to be successful. The game plan had them set up for failure. There is no excuse for the team quitting, which again, falls on the shoulders of the coaching staff.

Hart will earn his money in early December.

The fans quit after halftime. It wasn't nearly as loud in the 2nd half as it was the 1st. So many left after floridas 1st touchdown in the 2nd half

It's really quite embarrassing. My family in Florida give me crap about it and even my wife who is a new Vol fan looked st me and asked if people were leaving when Florida scored in the second half. Here's a new fan learning one of our GREAT traditions! Giving up on the team!

Which score? Most left after we went down 37-20 from what I could tell. That's when I quit watching. Women always think that a game is still in reach when it is not. My wife asked me why I turned off the TV then.

i love that everyone is complaining about bray like worley didn't come in and struggle to do anything against ga state... if bray leaves inexperience at qb will cost us multiple games next year i am sure...especially with the awesome run game and defense we have demonstrated
