Worst basketball team since

Maybe the 1994 Wade Houston team? This team makes the Kevin O’Neil teams look like championship teams. I’ve been watching Tennessee basketball for 50 years and have never seen more missed layups, air balls, and poor defense more than maybe 3 or 4 seasons . This team basically has no talent. Next season can’t get here soon enough
STFU...

We’ve been spoiled with some great teams the past couple of years, but this team is just plain awful. No leadership, no heart, and no desire.

At the end of last season if someone had told me: Bone & Grant will be gone.....Walker and Burns would be gone......Kent will supposedly be improved.....but gone.....Turner will be gone, Gaines, Pember and Oliver (which we didn’t have yet) would all be getting minuets......and an unknown freshman would come in (1/3rd into the season) to lead the team at point (unknown at the time)....and this team would be 10-6.......I would have said....huh......you crazy (looking at Washington, Murray ST, Florida ST, VCU, Cincy, Memphis, Wisconsin, LSU, at Missouri and at Georgia.....ect).

Tennessee has lost 6, won 5 gimme, and won 5 vs legit teams......not terrible considering.

Although the O has been worse than terrible and in a few games the D has been terrible.

Need a leader really bad , which was Tae’s greatest attribute so there’s that. Team speed and athleticism is really bad. No pure shooters and J. Johnson is not capable

Liked because of substance but I'm not sure who Tae is.

I fully expected a mediocre year, but the lack of intensity and poor defense is concerning. I also think that some degree of criticism for the roster/recruiting is warranted. It's basketball... You aren't dealing with 85 scholarship players. Reload each year with a few talented guys.

Ok. Get it out of your system now. Young teams have many bad, frustrating losses. But, they'll start putting it together. And, if they keep next year's class, adding those guys to a more experienced team is going to be fun.

This team is bad. But, not a surprise. Had no expectations for them going into season.

I expected 16-18 wins max. Might have been a bit too optimistic, but as long as they fight and the focus is on the younger players. We've got great talent coming in, but it's going to be green. We'll need a few of our current players to help with the transition. Just develop this roster and get it ready for next year. That's my expectation for this season.

Last night against Georgia was an aberration. CRB knew long ago this would be an uphill thing. Vols lost Admiral, Grant, Bone & Alexander (who was just promoted to NBA yesterday). This young team is grasping for leaders on the floor. That doesn't happen overnight. Some good wins thus far, a couple of bad losses. My money is on Deacon Barnes & the BasketVols. Some of you need to find a rubber hammer & pound sand.

This is comical If you’re talking about the Big Dance.

Not nearly as comical as the original post. There have been teams MUCH worse than this one since 1994. O’Neill had worse, Buzz had worse, Tyndall’s was worse, and Cuonzo’s first 2 were arguably worse. Oh, and so was Barnes’ first team.

Lighten up, UT lost a bunch players and playing freshman + 2 players who just arrived....they'll get better.
