Worley ranked 13th - SEC Qaurterbacks

They were the same throws that he missed last year. I thought he was just about perfect. Played within the system.

He did what they asked Sunday. As the season moves along he's gonna have to be able to stretch the D more than the staff asked him to Sunday. That will be the real test against SEC athletes. Working through progressions and making more challenged throws. gonna need the OL to get better between now and then.

Worley was good last night but, let's be candid, most of his throws were easy. We threw at least 10 screens, and nearly all the other completions were short throws. All fine but it's not like he was winging it around. When we did try to throw it downfield, we were way off. Worley manages the team well and is a competent short- to mid-range passer. Let's see if he can do more than that. The problem is that in college football today, a lot of QBs are mobile and elusive and create a lot of problems for defenses. When you don't have a QB like that, you can be at a disadvantage from the get-go and need to be strong in other areas--defense, running game, etc. We've got some good receivers--let's see if we can make good use of them.

Only place I agree with you is that he needs to improve his deep balls. He missed in 3 or 4. He was taking what the defense gave him which was the shorter intermediate passes. However, he made some very nice throws in tight spaces. He also made a perfect throw to Croom on a deep corner route for 27 yards. He was quick, decisive and accurate on all his throws with the exception of the deep balls which he will surely improve.
