Word on Hurd??

After that lackadasical play where Hurd was just going to stroll into the end zone, he won't be able to get away with that at the NFL level.

Yup, he got his bell rung, it's a fact. He will be good to go saturday I believe though. Others seem to think so. Everything vol74 has said is spot on people

I think it's being more down played because he got his bell rung opposed to a knockout, so he won't have to go through as intense of a regime to be cleared with the new rules

Still feeling it today though. You'd know more than anyone about how quickly these things subside. Praying he'll start feeling back to normal by tomorrow.

Ya man. He probably got the dizzy spells and coming and going headaches. He will be fine by Wednesday from my experience with it. Just be happy it wasn't a complete concussion cause those are the worst things you can experience.

Prayers for Jalen Hurd. I've been concussed and it SUCKS! I had trouble completing sentences the first few days, and then the fog started wearing off.

I have had it to where I didn't know I was in the game. I was playing auto pilot just going through motions.. Didn't remember anything for a week. threw up everyday, and had suicide headaches. Couldn't leave the dark room cause I would wander. This was before they took it serious. I had a direct hit on my head tho.

2nd - Vandy his freshman year.

People need to get off this he got chewed train. SERIOUSLY WHO CARES it does not matter one bit right now. In the grand scheme of things, these are kids.

Either way, give Hurd his owed respect. He's earned it. I'm obviously new here, but hope Vol74 can pass along that we hope Hurd gets to feeling like himself. I hope this board can remember to think about your kid (even if he's big as a horse) being injured and what you'd feel.

Flame away if you want, I'm not going to reply to it.

Make sure he gets a lot of rest. Don't push it to hard. He knows the playbook, so he needs to focus on sleepin and resting when those headaches come

If Jalen is showing concussion like symptoms, I take major issue with him being on the return team at the end of the game.

He seemed fine Jumping on the pile celebrating the win or either someone else had on a #1

It was Hurd jumping into the pile, one of the first down there. Lower body seemed fine!

Yes I was pretty sure it was Hurd too the one I saw. Something is just not right and all is NOT being told for some reason. With different stories out from CBJ and others and them not matching up. I'm calling BS. I hope he is ok and can play. He's a hell of a player and we need him to play!

I don't disagree with anything you're saying; I was joking about an ass-chewing because that's what I hoped it was - a concussion IS far more serious. Some players take weeks to recover, and thank goodness it's 2016 because this is his long-term health we're talking about, not only his future NFL career. If Hurd hasn't returned to his baseline neurological level by Saturday he shouldn't play, period.

Incidentally, it was probably the fumble at the goal line where he got hurt. Showboating or not, players like Hurd (or Cam Newton on Sunday) have to play with complete awareness of every defender and finish every play to avoid injury.

I don't think it was that play, cause if it was he would not have went back in. He had a TD pass after the fumble play. And if he had any signs whatsoever of a concussion, they would have immediately pulled his helmet! That's protocol!

Go back and look at the replay of the game where Hurd lost the ball near the goal line in a "hot dog" action. Butch Jones grabbed him immediately as he came off the field and it certainly looks like Jones literally chewed his but out. Think I am correct that Hurd never returned to the game. It also appears that Hurd was "mouthing" back at Jones too.

Think you're wrong. Since he scored a TD afterwards. :good!:

No...but it's happened in the NFL. :hmm:

You're reputation is well known. With that being said, it it makes it a little hard to believe that you're close enough to find out that was he benched, but not told who he had the issue with.

Jesus dude, just stop. If you know who Larry is, just take the information and stop trying to discredit him. For crying out loud.

Jesus dude, I'm not stopping a damn thing. There are two other "credible" people giving other information that does a much better job of discrediting Larrys information.

How bout you stop trying to be the one who gets to decide what I choose to believe.

Why anyone would try to act like their OPINION holds more weight than what Hurd's uncle and what Travis Stepens says is ridiculous. Butch may have said this or that, and I love him, but he's got a history of not being entirely truthful when it comes to injuries (as do many other coaches out there). So stop being in denial people. We'll just have to wait and see how the week goes.

If he isn't good to go by Saturday, obviously his return doesn't need to be rushed. For his safety and for his future... that would be like putting Booby Miles in when we all know his ACL is done for. We have completely capable backs in Kamara and Kelly that can hold it down until Jalen comes back (if he's out Saturday).
