Why not go to work in Congress & stop storming ICE facilities & crying over what TF Ice does in their jobs as in protecting the american citizens from criminal illegal aliens?
These dumb bells have an approval rating of only 21% & dropping lower as ppl hate them.

This is insane. Every teacher has their personality expressed in their classroom. My English teacher had paintings. Nothing to do with the subject.

I had a Spanish teacher with the same name as a famous linebacker, and he had a poster of the LB on the wall. Had nothing to do with anything, but it was awesome, and he was a great teacher because he connected with us.

If a teacher wants to say he/she's an ally in decorating their classroom, it's ridiculous to claim they aren't doing their job.

If they want to decorate off the clock…fantastic. If they want to answer questions about the decorations…then they can start an after school club and I can decide which ones my daughter goes to. From bell to bell they need to handle business. No pride/ no Ten Commandments. Do what I pay you for.

Nothing wrong with personality. I had a teacher that had a David Lee Roth poster on the wall. The issue is that if a teacher has a pride flag or something similar on the conservative side then they usually don't stop there. They usually try to push their beliefs on the class and that takes importance over education.

I was always a weak student writing papers. When I went back to college, I wrote papers based off the professors belief system. I went from a C student to an A student.

No kidding..I was a Political Science major and it mattered. I had an admitted Communist professor for an Econ class, actually liked him, a Palestinean for several classes and a feminist when I took a Women in Politics class..thought I could scope chicks, but huuuge mistake..lol

A gay pride flag is not inherently political.

I agree teachers should not push their beliefs on kids, but banning pride flags is going too far. What about an Israeli flag? What about a Mexican flag? You're not pushing for a ban on politics in the classrom. Just specifically something gay.

There should be rules about pushing beliefs onto kids, and this is a part of teacher training. This is a free speech issue. You're singling out a specific message and preventing teachers from indicating that their classroom is a safe space for kids who desperately need support.

I went to a mostly Mormon school in Utah. There was one catholic teacher who wore a crucifix and had photos of her visit to the Vatican on her walls, etc. Guess where you could find the few Catholic kids in town during a lunch period. Her classroom was a pretty good place to look.

Is this really where we want to take things? No community. Oppenness. Just hardline rules so that nobody has to ever deal with the notion that somebody might say something to our kids that they disagree with.

Guess what! It's good for your kids' development to deal with alternative opinions. And if you don't think that's true, then your beliefs might be problematic.

Get rid of it all and teach the kids. No Isreali flag, Mexican Flag or anything else. This isn't about free speech. Its a job. I am not allowed unlimited free speech at my job. Recently, shirts with emblems on them were banned and I'm not allowed to hang anything on the wall.

What does your job, or jobs in general, have specifically to do with teaching? Normal job rules do not apply to kindergarten teachers because it's not a normal job at all. Teaching 9th graders isn't the same thing as teaching kindergarteners, and it's certainly nothing like your job.

It's insane that you would like this level of top-down control over schools. No Mexican flag? We're not allowed to celebrate heritage in schools? That's not part of learning? Were you home schooled in a bunker? We can celebrate Mexican heritage at my job, so now what? Does your work experience dictate all work experience? Why?

Be reasonable. I know that's a tall task for you.

If you allow some flags then you have to allow them all. It has become an issue in schools and we need to get teachers back focused on building the best and brightest that America has to offer. You have to be living in a bunker to not see what is going on in public classrooms. It is why charter schools and homeschooling is becoming so popular.
