WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale Arrested in Miami nightclub incident during Unrivaled celebration

Arike Ogunbowale’s Unrivaled championship celebration took a turn.

The Mist scorer and WNBA All-Star was arrested following an alleged physical altercation at Miami club E11EVEN on Thursday, hours after she capped Unrivaled’s second season with a title.

Per police reports obtained by The Post, Ogunbowale was part of a “large crowd” being escorted out of the club at 4:20 a.m. following an earlier incident when she punched a security staffer in the face with a closed fist.

The Dallas Wings scorer was taken into custody, released on $1,000 bond and faces charges of first-degree misdemeanor battery.

She was seen partying at E11EVEN with teammates, including Paige Bueckers and Aziaha James, in videos posted to social media.

Such trashy behavior. She's old enough that she should know better?

I wonder if the league has the guts to do something about it?

When she played for Muffet at ND she often played dirty. McGraw tried to pass it off as “lost composure”. Then she went to the W and behaved mostly like an adult. I wonder if the combination of joyful exuberance and booze let her Jekyll shoulder her Hyde aside, or vice versa.

Facing the fact that she’s 30 and quickly on her way out. the kind of high volume ball hog very few want to play with or have on their team. She was not even a starter in Unrivaled. And also as you mentioned, kind of a dumb ass to start with.

In general, the association of winning sports championships with getting ****, faced drunk has gotten ridiculous. The fun was really over when they started draping the locker rooms and handing out goggles to the players in anticipation of the champagne. The W‘s parades are even worse, mainly a race to social media to post who was the drunkest in public. Of course, by in public, they mean the two dozen stragglers who happened by the parade.

Word from those who were there is Arike was already deep in her cups when this party celebrating the end of the Unrivaled season started Reportedly she got into an encounter with a fan and the club security was escorting her out “for her own safety” when she slugged the security guard. League should deal with her accordingly. Very bad look.

This is the problem. They think they are celebrities when they aren't. My favorite video was the one of the Queen of Trashy WNBA Behavior (Courtney Williams) outside of a club with a bunch of WNBA players after their All Star game and not being able to get iin. Then she has the audacity to say they shouldn't have to wait because they are WNBA players, but the bouncer still had no idea who they were, even after she tried name dropping Angel Reese. The video ends with them turning around with their tails between their legs saying that place was "ghetto" anyway.

No matter how hard the media tries to prop them up, if their name isn't Caitlin Clark or Angel Reese, the only people who will know them by name are hardcore fans of the league, not the casual ones tuning in because the media has been pushing Clark/Reese hard.

Alot of WNBA players are embolden because of their social media followers and Unrivaled.

Today is the deadline the W has set for reaching an agreement in order for the season not to be delayed. Both sides have submitted proposals and are set to meet later today. As soon as the deal does get signed, the W is going to spin into the craziest free agency in their history. A lot of teams may look very different

Rickea Jackson, 'in fear of my life,' filed for protective order vs. James Pearce Jr.

WNBA player Rickea Jackson filed a petition for protection against her ex-boyfriend, Atlanta Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr., saying that she was "in fear of my life" and that if the court didn't intervene she believed "James will kill me," according to court documents obtained by ESPN.

Jackson, who plays for the Los Angeles Sparks, filed the petition for injunction for protection against dating violence in the days following Pearce's arrest on battery and stalking charges, after he allegedly rammed his car into hers Feb. 7. Jackson separately filed notice with the court that she was willing to testify in proceedings against Pearce.

Jackson also detailed the Feb. 7 incident that led to Pearce's arrest, saying that she saw Pearce following her in his vehicle as she drove home and that she called 911 and instead drove to a Doral, Florida, police station "because I knew James was going to hurt me." She said Pearce chased after her at high speeds and blocked her with his car at a traffic light, trying to enter her car and jumping on top of the vehicle.
