Without saying your age, who was your favorite player when you first started watching football?

I was at the game when Ug Bucksnort set a passing record heaving the rock (literally it was a rock) to his favorite receiver Oop Skullbone for a season-high five yards. Skullbone celebrated his reception by hurling the rock back at an unsuspecting Bucksnort. Services were held that evening.

The next day a Dire Wolf raised a leg and took a leak on a flat rock in Phenix City whereupon Alabambam University invented the Paleolithic Cup and proclaimed its first national championship.

I start having real memories from Vols football about 5 years old and I loved Tony Robinson, Tim McGee, and Dale Jones. Those are the one's I really remember from being a young kid.

Then I exploded in my fandom and watched as many games or listened to as many as I could by the late 80s and I was in awe by Reggie Cobb and Chuck Webb. Loved Andy Kelly and Carl Pickens and JJ McCleskey also. That's the one's I remember the most as a younger kid.

Haven't read through the whole thread. Anybody have Spurrier yet?

Or is he being saved for a different thread?

Not sure if I’m misunderstanding the question or not, but my favorite player from my very first year watching UT football was Charlie Garner. My favorite player of all-time is Shawn Bryson.
