Without saying your age, who was your favorite player when you first started watching football?

Yelberton Abraham Tittle, known as Y.A. Tittle. He was my dad‘s favorite, so he was mine as well. I was only 5-6 years old when he played for the Giants In the early sixties. He was a heck of a player back when the game was rough and bloody. He suffered a concussion and broken sternum in one game but played the rest of the season without ever missing a game. Not surprisingly, he suffered from severe dementia late in life. He died in 2017 I believe.

I remember watching him throw his famous "Alley Oop" passes to R.C. Owens when he was with the 49'ers. I think he was already pretty old by the time he was traded to the Giants from San Fran.
