Without saying your age, who was your favorite player when you first started watching football?

I honestly didn't have a favorite player. Just a favorite team.

I remember some of the names: Bobby Scott, Steve Kiner, Jack Reynolds...the last of whom went on to be a Los Angeles Ram, which is why the Rams were my favorite pro team growing up.

But I didn't have a favorite player. Just the team. The Volunteers.
Same here. The mid to late 70's is when I was old enough to watch and understand football. My favorites were Craig Puki, Alan Cockrell, Jimmy Streater, Danny Spradlin, Reggie White, Kelly Zeigler, etc. Oh and Alan Duncan. That guy could kick!

Joe Namath. I was a Jets and AFL fan growing up. The NFL was pretty much 3 yards and a cloud of dust and the AFL was airing it out. There was only 1 college game televised per week and a highlight show on Sunday but the pros had 4 games on Sunday. I didn't even know he went to bama till later.
