What will our roster look like?
What transfers can we expect?
Outside of Chandler and Mashack, any incoming recruits?

How sure are you of that? I’ve seen other places saying that while nothing is official, it’s leaning towards a hard 13 cap.

Seniors who opt to return have been granted another year of eligibility that doesn't count against the 13.

At this point just on another forum from someone pretty well connected. Again though, nothing official - just that it was leaning that way. I guess I’m wondering where y’all have seen that returning seniors definitely won’t count against the 13?

Well there’s multiple articles written from reputable people, not someone on a message board saying it.

Santi is a career 37-ish percent 3-point shooter with 89 3s in two seasons. He was the best shooter from long range on last year’s team and will likely be the premier threat from deep next year, too.

Edit: obviously the roster is fluid right now, so it’s possible somebody, like Powell, could come in and hit more 3s than Vescovi. So, I reckon that situation is a bit difficult to predict at this junction.

Barnes likes upper classman. James and Vescovi make sense. Chandler will be in the equation, but he’s likely just here a year. Vescovi at the 2 will be a lot different than him playing 1. But this was also said when Fulkerson was expected to leave. If he comes back that will change the equation.

His defense improved this year. With Chandler here, he won't be the primary ball handler anymore.

I like him just fine, but I see his limitations. It appears they are looking to diminish his role moving forward.

I think the hope is that by using him mainly at the 2, he can concentrate on hunting his shot and making assists on offense, and getting better on defense. He's already better at that than Bailey. And he is also a good rebounder. It will be interesting to see how well he does when he plays mainly at the 2.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm not on a Vescovi crusade here. I'm not sure he's athletic enough to run the lead-guard spot on an SEC team full time. But I certainly don't see anything nor have I read anything that leads me to believe he's being relegated to a lesser role next season.

I think this is correct, and should make him a vital part of any success we have. Having Chandler on the team could also allow him to use his skills to the fullest making him a much more effective player.

I could see all 4 of those players being the major pieces to a very good team: Vescovi, JJJ, Fulkerson and Chandler. Throw in Powell and/or BHH and it looks like a solid top 10 team to me. Add in Kessler and we would be right at the top.
