why are people picking against us at A&M....I do not see the talent on their team this year up to our level.
No excuse for The Pride not to be at every game!! Best band in America!
First post. I'm a member of the The Pride of the Southland Band and at the end of last year in May of 2016, the directors told my fellow members and I that we will take the whole band to GA (to watch the Vols beat the Dawgs between the hedges, of course) and we will take the two pep bands, the Orange Pep Band and the White Pep Band, which is about 150 members in total, I believe, to Kyle Field for the A&M game. We're also going to take the whole band to Bristol and I'm pretty sure we'll do Pregame and Open the T for that. That's the plan as of now. Last year, I got to Open the T for the Oklahoma game inside a checkered Neyland Stadium and it was THE most electrifying atmosphere I have ever been a part of. Just thinking of Opening the T in front of a crowd of 160,000 people gives me chills. I hope to get to go to Atlanta and Tampa this year as well. Just thought I'd share what I know. Go Vols!
Hart...:whistling:
GO VOLS!
Thanks for the info. And thanks for what y'all do. The twins went to their first games last year and had a blast. Who knows what they will remember, but they are always wanting to sing Rocky Top, they can hold their own.
See y'all in Tampa.
Historically the two pep bands have been 40 members each. On trips where they take both bands, they sometimes add a few extra bodies, but I'd expect that number to be less than 100 total. They may have changed things since I marched though..... we will take the two pep bands, the Orange Pep Band and the White Pep Band, which is about 150 members in total, I believe, to Kyle Field for the A&M game.

Yeah, you're definitely right. After I thought about it, they aren't more than 50 members a piece, although I believe that the band this year has increased its membership by 50 with the incoming freshmen for this year because of the hype around the improved football team (the director's said it was the biggest jump in membership since the 1998 season to 1999) so they may expand it. This year will actually be my first year in a pep band, so I didn't know off the top of my head. I didn't do it last year and regretted it. Thanks, though. Gonna be a great year! IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!
So what's the head count for The Pride?
