Will Kamara return?

Would love for Alvin to stay, but the guy has put in his time-4 years in fact. I think a lot of GMs are aware of AK. He's probably a 3rd-5th rounder in this draft. Last year I think he would've gotten drafted too, probably 5-7th. He's just that talented.

The only thing that might hold him back is his draft grade. He's gambling with millions by going this year, but he's still going to make millions either way. I'm sure everyone knows this by now but since they changed the grading rules a couple years ago, underclassmen prospects can only get ratings of 1st round, 2nd round or stay in school. If he doesn't get a 1st or 2nd round grade who knows, maybe AK stays and carves out an All-American campaign and enters next year as a top 3 running back...:crossfingers:

He got a 4-5th round draft grade. I'm not saying he is a first rounder, but I'm a little stunned he is that low.
However, selfishly that may make it worth it to return which would be freaking awesome!
I hope he makes the best decision for himself he deserves it. Great player, more importantly great young man.

Dear Mr Kamara

Please come back to the Hill with a insurance plan and give your all and you will be the top back next year.

Thanks.

I would have more confidence in team 121 if Kamara was indeed a member, because without him the Vols are not scaring anyone, including Vandy:eek:lol:

It's a huge statement about the "culture" and what the players believe if he stays.

(And if he leaves it's not a negative statement. He should leave)

I would be out the door if given the chance to go pro this year but running backs do have the shortest careers in the NFL and late round money doesn't compare with the first two rounds. Hope he goes and has a nice long career.

FWIW, Ralph Webb is returning for another year as well. Just announced last night.

Sony, Chubb, Webb.

Maybe we'll get as lucky?

I hope he does, but doubt that he will. Maybe with a 4th or 5th round grade he will reconsider.

Most who grade that late fall to the 6th or 7th. If he has an exceptional bowl game, he might jump into the late 2nd round. So, I can't even venture a guess until the MCB is over.

He really should stay and continue working on his craft and play a full season as the starter. I think another year he could increase his draft stock. But we don't know what is going on in kids personal and family life that they need the money now. Falling into the later rounds can get risky and as we have seen before guys once picked in the later rounds end up not getting drafted at all. But either way I think he plays on Sundays at some point.

I see no chance he even gets close to the 2nd round this year.He isn't a proven enough of a RB to even sniff the 2nd or 3rd rounds this year. That's not a knock on AK at all, it's just more that he has very limited starts in 2 seasons and vastly underused by Debord at times. Which is no fault of Alvin's. But a full year as a starter, chance to show his durability and what he brings to an NFL team. Right now he just doesn't have the body of work that a lot of the better RB's have but we Vol Fans know he is a very good RB,great leader and loved by his teammates. Selfishly I hope he comes back, because I'm not gonna lie our RB depth chart has potential to get dangerously bad.JK would be the only guy we know much about and we're still learning about him. Then throw in CFA and a few FR then we are an injury away from being in serious trouble, Especially in the SEC.

I thought they explained it pretty well during the broadcast. 1st and maybe some 2nd rounders get money and again a LOT of it is not guaranteed. RBs do not get the big bucks usually until the next contract which means they have to show durability as well as productivity. There's few people other than those wearing orange tinted glasses suggesting Kamara goes in the first two rounds. He is not going to get a big paycheck, compared to those of us living paycheck to paycheck maybe it seems big, but for a lifetime, he likely gets chump change and it's not guaranteed. I wish him lifelong monstrous success no matter what he does, but he really needs to think it through, it's silly to suggest chump change is a common sense choice.

Yeah if michel or chubb back, no reason to think Kamara wouldn't come back. He could go, wouldn't be surprised either way. Anything said about chubb can be said for Kamara. Both have had injury issues.
