Very interesting.

I don't think he's at a point where he can afford to enter without knowing ahead of time. I'd say there are only 15-30 players in the country who could enter without feedback and know they'd be drafted.

Does this mean he's coming back?

But if anyone is going to do anything out of the ordinary, it's Kamara.

But yeah, that'd be a huge gamble, imo.

He gone imo

Kamara enters the postseason matchup against Nebraska with 1,111 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns, proving to be the Vols’ most versatile threat from the backfield.
WalterFootball.com currently lists him as the No. 4 running back prospect in the 2017 class, projecting him as a potential first- or second-round pick. He even drew a comparison to Kansas City Chiefs star Jamal Charles:
“Kamara is a lot like Jamaal Charles as a runner in that both are fast slashers who are built well with some power. Additionally, Kamara is a phenomenal receiver with great hands and route-running to also be used as a slot receiver. He also is a dynamic returner on punts and kickoffs.”
It would be surprising if Kamara decided to stay in Knoxville for another season, but Tennessee would certainly put him to good use as it eyes an SEC East run in 2017.

Where was that quote from? It's hard to pin point where he will end up in the draft if he does declare. Of course with all of us watching him all year we know that he can be a 2nd round talent or better but I have also seen a lot of quotes about possible 4-5 round as well.

Edit: see now it was walterfootball.com.

If he's decided he's not going to wait another year to get paid then it's not a huge gamble. He'd be better off not being drafted than drafted late since he could find the best opportunity. With so many other RBs staying in school, this year might be better numbers wise for him to jump to the NFL than next year.

Idk, its still a VERY strong draft class for rbs this year. Cook, fournette, mccaffery, elijah hood, royce freeman, kid from ohio state and a bunch of others.

Nope, I was saying the huge gamble would be jumping without filing for a pre-draft grade. He should at least do that, imo. He's all over the place depending on which "expert" you choose to believe.

Edit: Nevermind. After reading your post for the 5th time, it finally made sense to me.

Draft position is a crapshoot in either year. Returning for another year most likely costs more in wear and tear than benefits from additional exposure. All of the standouts will be in the mix next year whether they are in the 2017 or 2018 draft. Despite skipping the evaluation opportunity, I will be SHOCKED if AK returns for Team 121.

He'll be graded at the Combine and individual team evaluations. I don't see him benefiting in any way with another year in Butch's system. Exposure doesn't matter as he's not under anybody's radar. IMO getting an evaluation to help decide whether to declare or not is moot.

Anyone that watched that (with a half a brain) can see Kamara had no chance to make that 1st down -- its all on the guy that called time out to draw up that stupid play

It's all on the defense who couldn't stop Vandy. There's no reason we should be down two scores late in the fourth to Vandy to try and come back. Lol

EVERYBODY entering the draft is a "POTENTIAL" first/second round pick. Hell the Titans took a RB in the first round a few years ago out of Arizona that did not start for his own college team. Kamara has shown nothing but class and a good head on his shoulders since arriving on The Hill. I'd expect nothing less from him during this, he's no fool and seems to be keeping his head straight. I support him no matter whether he stays or not, but it would not surprise me at all were he to return and him seeing that is in his best interest.

Kamara should go in my opinion, unless he just really loves playing in college.

I think he would grade higher than anyone except Fournette and Cook. Plus, he still has a ton of tread on the tires as a RB.

He got the feedback last year and, from what I understand, you can only request it once. I don't read anything into this.

Staying would be special... barring injuries, this guy would rack up some serious numbers and set the tone for a high draft pick. But that is a pretty serious gamble.

Not really imo if he comes back and improves his stock then it was worth it. If he comes back gets injured or sucks( he won't) then he goes where he is projected now

Same site has Tennessee's Jalen Hurd as the 11th RB and going 2-4th rd

I was thinking Kamara returning wouldn't help his draft status but if he has an amazing season next year, it could propel him to the 1st possibly. Especially if he has a great all purpose season. Just think of him in NO or NE....deadly.

I hope he goes. To get the money going man. He's given his all for TN.

I do too. And yes he has given his all. Fine young man.

I don't trust this staff to properly showcase his talents or develop him to minimize injury. It is a shame that he was so under utilized and that folks are even discussing his limited body of work.

When RockyTop News asked Kamara about not playing in Bowl game to prepare for the draft he said,"I'm just not a quitter."
