Will Dooley make a move

On twitter @fbrumormill said "Derek Dooley telling advisers he expects to fire several coaches."

Need hire a proven and "run friendly" OL coach, and hire a proven RB coach. I think that's all that needs to happen with the staff for next year. Then it's roll the dice and see where we're at this time next year. If we don't have a chance to get 8 wins after 6or 7 games next year, Hart need to start a silent search for a new head coach. One that is a proven winner with name recognition, and a history of great recruiting success. I know there are not many out there, but this time, the pocket book needs to be open WIDE.

If the O-line had done their job, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Nor would we be talking about firing Dooley. The line is the single most critical part of the offense and it was awful. Bad line means bad RB, bad QB, bad offense. Period. Unless you have Jim Brown or Barry Sanders in your backfield, the line dictates how good the offense is.

Despite the execution problems this season (and there were many including the OLine), the biggest problems are not "on the filed" problems. There is something bigger going on internally with this team. At the end, you could just tell that both coaches and players had mailed it in and were ready to be finished.

I don't know how you fix that.

This. That will add to the pool of available coaches. If we do indeed go another route next year, we damn well better get someone good. Money should be no object in our next HC search.

i look at it as the 2nd and 3rd to last worst teams in the SEC playing each other. hardly an upset.

Most people consider ending a 26-year streak to one of the worst teams in the country-- a team that played a RB at QB-- an upset.

He does show signs of relying heavily on the pass at times when it appears that the run has not been successful enough to his liking.
This is the same Chaney who had a successful season under Kiffin and Dooley until the bottom fell out (injuries) and also had some kid name Drew something or other who is playing in the NFL? Not sure you have a valid argument here.

Kiffin called the plays.

Joe Tiller called the plays.

Funny how that works isn't it?

Not really, the man still had to have some skill, or he wouldn't have been in the position. Some of you people seem to think that we enjoy changing staffs every year or so. To me this has been the most upsetting four years, I can remember.

We need to take a serious look at this list of OL coaches.

Scout.com: Top offensive line coaches

Stacy Searels, who spent 2003-2006 at LSU before joining the Georgia staff for 2007.

All Searels did in four years at Baton Rouge was send five guys to the NFL, including All-Americans Stephen Peterman, Ben Wilkerson and Andrew Whitworth. Incidentally, Wilkerson won the 2004 Rimington Award.

Last season, in his first year with Mark Richt’s Bulldogs, Searels somehow molded a line around three freshman starters. In spite of this glaring lack of maturity and experience, Georgia’s blocking front helped the Dawgs field a balanced offense (2,305 rushing yards, 2,579 passing yards) that averaged 375.2 total yards and 32.6 points per game. Georgia scored 32 rushing touchdowns and averaged 4.5 yards per carry last fall.

If I were a head man looking for an offensive line coach, Stacy Searels just might be the first call I’d make.

DAMN!
