Amen to that brother!:birgits_giggle:
I seriously doubt Bama will be better on D. We lose Chapman, Gentry, Hightower, Upshaw, Kirkpatrick, Menzie, and Barron. That said, we could take a step back and still be the best defense in the country.
It wouldn't surprise me if Bama is better on offense.
No. LSU will be best and by considerable margin. AL was only marginally better this year, if at all, and LSU was all sophomores.
presumably you know better than to post silliness like this, given the weakness of AL's schedule relative to LSU's. LSU played two of the best offenses in America. AL played none.Total YPG:
#1 Alabama 183.6
#2 LSU 261.5
I don't know how you define "marginal" but that is the biggest gap between 1 and 2 since they started keeping defensive stats.
Rushing YPG:
#1 Alabama 72.2
#5 LSU 90.1
Now, to be fair, Alabama's D never had to defend Alabama's rushing game, and LSU had to do it twice.
Passing YPG
#1 Alabama 111.5
#8 LSU 171.4
PPG
#1 Alabama 8.2
#2 LSU 11.3
Yes, LSU had a fantastic defense in 2011. They will have a fantastic defense in 2012. Given what they bring back, they may well be the best defense in the country. However, 2011 Bama had the best defense of the BCS era, and to say that it was only "marginally" better than LSU's is a joke.

Both times a Dooley coached team has lined up against Bama, we've lost by 31 points. You have to go all the way back to 1963 to see a point spread that high. Dooley's losses weren't the most lopsided losses in the history of the matchup. He did post two of the top five biggest losses in the history of the matchup in his first two years of coaching, which is impressive from a losing standpoint.
Two of our worst teams against two of their best, no way that should have happened
