Amen to that brother!:birgits_giggle:

Still not sure why knowing that Dooley has a chance to ever beat Saban is delusional or funny, and this time I will throw in the disclaimer that ever means while he is at Tennessee.

Obviously his chances go up the longer he is the HC at Tennessee, and go down or at least remain the same if he is the coach only in the short term. :eek:k: and if not:mf_surrender:

Saban sent Dooley here to make sure that Tennessee rots in mediocraty while Dooley gets richer! They laugh about this when they vacation together.

My hatred of all things bama knows no bounds....but I think I've found something I hate almost as much.

So called Vol fans that worship at the saban alter.

I seriously doubt Bama will be better on D. We lose Chapman, Gentry, Hightower, Upshaw, Kirkpatrick, Menzie, and Barron. That said, we could take a step back and still be the best defense in the country.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bama is better on offense.

No. LSU will be best and by considerable margin. AL was only marginally better this year, if at all, and LSU was all sophomores.

Total YPG:

#1 Alabama 183.6
#2 LSU 261.5

I don't know how you define "marginal" but that is the biggest gap between 1 and 2 since they started keeping defensive stats.

Rushing YPG:

#1 Alabama 72.2
#5 LSU 90.1

Now, to be fair, Alabama's D never had to defend Alabama's rushing game, and LSU had to do it twice.

Passing YPG

#1 Alabama 111.5
#8 LSU 171.4

PPG

#1 Alabama 8.2
#2 LSU 11.3

Yes, LSU had a fantastic defense in 2011. They will have a fantastic defense in 2012. Given what they bring back, they may well be the best defense in the country. However, 2011 Bama had the best defense of the BCS era, and to say that it was only "marginally" better than LSU's is a joke.

presumably you know better than to post silliness like this, given the weakness of AL's schedule relative to LSU's. LSU played two of the best offenses in America. AL played none.

Okay, how about an apples to apples comparison?

Yards and points given up against:

Vs. Arkansas
Alabama 226 and 14
LSU 254 and 10

Vs. Ole Miss
Alabama 141 and 7
LSU 195 and 3

Vs. Auburn
Alabama 140 and 0
LSU 248 and 10

Vs. Mississippi St
Alabama 131 and 7
LSU 193 and 6

Vs. Tennessee
Alabama 155 and 6
LSU 239 and 7

Vs. Florida
Alabama 222 and 10
LSU 213 and 11
*Bama did LSU the favor of injuring UF's first and second string QBs the week before.

So, in games against common opponents:
Alabama - 169.2 YPG, 7.3 PPG
LSU - 223.7 YPG, 7.8 PPG

I'll give you credit: you are often wrong, but you are never in doubt.

Both times a Dooley coached team has lined up against Bama, we've lost by 31 points. You have to go all the way back to 1963 to see a point spread that high. Dooley's losses weren't the most lopsided losses in the history of the matchup. He did post two of the top five biggest losses in the history of the matchup in his first two years of coaching, which is impressive from a losing standpoint.

Soooooooo, you think he will beat them?

Two of our worst teams against two of their best, no way that should have happened

Kiffin fielded one of the worst teams in our programs history against one of their best and was a FG kicker away from beating them. I have no problem with Dooley losing to them at this point. It is the fact that we're not even competitive.

Sure the tables will turn and the Vols will be on top again. This will happen but not under Dooley’s tenure.
