Will Chris Lofton get drafted?

I think Jujuan could be drafted in the 2nd round. Chris will probably either play internationally, OR be signed as a free agent in the NBA.

Hard to imagine that his next game could be the last time he suits up, ever.

I cannot imagine Chris getting any playing time in the Association. On top of that, I cannot imagine him starting for most teams in Europe.

I imagine Lofton will test the waters of professional basketball for a year or two, then end up on a bench somewhere, learning how to coach.

He will play for years in Europe.

There's a place for spot shooters in international basketball, but Lofton is not even quick enough guarding average guards on the perimeter, so who knows.

But honestly, who would hire Chris Lofton as a coach? Not to doubt the man, but I seriously don't think Lofton would make the greatest of coaches.

yeah not to bust on Chris I love him, but listening to him talk a couple of times after games and during interviews..... I'm not sure he would make the best coach. Rhetoric just isn't there. He is a good kid though.

Lofton can make big money in Israel, Turkey, et al. As long as his hubris doesn't make him think he can play in the top levels in Italy or Spain, he's fine. Australia would also be a good option.

Lofton can be a top tier player in most of Europe. Dane Bradshaw is leading his team in scoring. That is an extreme example because his team is horrible. But you seem to be overestimating most of the European basketball leagues. Lofton will have a long, successful career in Europe. J. Smith will as well, most likely. He has more of a chance to catch on in the NBA than Lofton because of his athletic ability on the defensive end of the floor. But I think in the end he will flourish in Europe and not the NBA.

Making six figures and seeing the world is a pretty good way to spend life IMO.

Ok I am a Vol fan but I think that Lofton played like crap this year. I have had my problems with Lofton. Yeah at times he would drop a ton of point but at other times he would disappear. He isn't a great dribbler and can't really create a shot of the dribble. Plus he is a bum on defense. However he is a great contested shooter. He kind of reminds me of Jordan Farmar. I could see Lofton going to a team with a star player that could kick it out to him and have him shoot the 3 ball. So I think he could go late 2 round or picked up in free agency.

He cannot play defense and he doesn't have the speed or athleticism required to play NBA period....... end of discussion. I wish he did but he doesn't. I enjoyed him while he was here but he was exposed this past year, imagine what NBA would do to him.

Be a good Euro or Japanese league player.

While there is a Japanese Basketball League, it is not exactly where the cream of the crop go for a career overseas. Hat said it best, Lofton should be in Israel or Turkey for the next couple of years.

Why should professional basketball adopt anything from the college game? There's a simple reason the NBA focuses on dollars and cents. It's a business.
