Wilcox needs to go

We have some real idiots as fans. Our defense has looked weak against 3 opponents now. UF's offense is not any good it's just Rainey and Demps. We miss tackles and aren't aggressive. But the biggest problem is no runnig game. Lord forbid if I tell the truth you idiots.

Wilcox deserves every bit of the criticism he got for the first series, but the D played good enough for them to win had they had some support from the O overall.

So we miss tackles, are not aggressive, have no running game, and firing Wilcox will fix it?

And WE are idiots?

We had a true frosh bust a coverage on the 80 yard TD. Another true frosh missed a few tackles on Rainey by going for the killshot. Other than that(ie: youth) the D didn't look bad at all and bailed the team out in the first half. They were backed up to their own red zone many times by the offense/special teams and acquitted themselves well.

OP can ****.

The o-line coach HH needs to go. Hire a run blocking teacher! Wilcox is not the problem!

wrong it comes down to fundamentals not being properly coached....none of you bufoons gave Chavis any leeway when his players missed tackles......from what I have seen I would take a Chavis defense over a Wilcox D any day of the week.

Chavis had much more talent. You are the buffoon

Bad game. No running game and defense missed tackles. Wilcox'd defense looks soft........not liking the whole bend bt not break thing. Missing tackles comes down to coaching period.

Wow I thought he called one Hell of a Game. Our D is what kept us in this game today.

Wilcox deserves nothing but our respect. Outside of that first drive he had one hell of a Scheme today.

Wilcox's Defense is one reason we still had a chance towards the end of the game. Missing tackles comes down to kids trying to get a big hit to be seen on the highlight reels. Everyone wants to be a Eric Berry and knock the s&*% out of people instead of wrapping up. I've seen it in a lot of games this year not just our games.

Here we go again. You got the whole bend but not break thing from Vern. It's a cliche not a scheme.

Sick of these stupid threads

execution, execution, scheme was fine just not executed

I agree with that except for the start of the halves. He gets severely outcoached on the first scripted plays of each half. That opening drive was embarrassing for him. Nothing but screens and edge runs (which everyone expected) and they dominated us.

Wilcox had our guys in the right position. It's not his fault we have to start and play so many inexperienced freshmen. Today was a good learning experience. Almost all these guys will get another crack at it next year.

Wilcox is doing fine. We have freshman LBs, a freshman corner, lots on inexperience, and so forth. Play that against slippery runners like Florida has and things happen. I would say though some tackling drills are in order this week. Missed tackles is a reoccuring theme with this team. That is not Wilcox's fault. That is the players fault. We will get better and could have done worse. We knew it would be a shootout. Trouble is we didn't shoot enough.

Just in case you twist it, I'm all Vol and wish we had stomped Florida into the ground.

That out of the way, I do declare that the worse damned trolls on this board are so called Vols fan like you so full of themselves and quick to find fault where none exists. Wilcox and Dooley and gradually assembling the pieces we need to return to the upper echelon of CFB. The work isn't yet complete but getting there. The proof? Florida for all its weaknesses is team loaded with blistering speed which we saw today. Yet our patchwork defense stymied them repeatedly.

We killed ourselves with bad snaps that forced Bray to bend over repeatedly to retrieve the ball. By the way imbecile, that is an offensive miscue, Wilcox has nothing to do with it.

It was pretty obvious early that we can't really run against Florida. Bray wanted to open up on the passing attack but coaches differed until probably too late.

Now defense, Florida has two speed demons. If you blink those super gnats are gone, just gone. If you focus on them, Florida will dump the ball off to whoever we leave uncovered. This means our defense is forced to jitterbug all over the place, which means empty spaces on the field. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Florida's luck is to have those weapons. Considering all this, our defense performed admirably. Had Bray been cut loose early, he may have thrown more interceptions OR more TDs. We won't know this year. But YOU, you know nothing, go support another team. Or become a Calaveras County Jumping Frog Contest fan.

We lost. A better team beat us today and that is that.
