Wilcox needs to go

UT should have went with a faster defensive scheme, i.e. 4-2-5 with three safeties and should have had one or two paly up in run support. Florida didn't have a deep passing threat with Brantley.

Our DB's spent a lot of the first half on their backs.... I would guess the D-line wasn't doing their part, or the DB's need to get a lot tougher.

Good suggestion. Fire a coach who has put numerous OLs in the league b/c they haven't developed in run blocking.

Considering it is his job to develop them as run blockers as well as pass blockers.. YES..

If we finish the season running the ball week in, week out like we did this saturday how can you validate keeping him? Does he automatically get 2012 based on our youth and inexperience? If so that is fine, but what happens if our running game is anemic again next year?

I'm not a fan calling for anyones head right now, but our run blocking is anemic and has to improve. I think we're all disappointed with the progress there considering the bug uglies have been through the SEC gauntlet before and should know what it takes physically and mentally to succeed in thus conference.

Let's hope to see some progress. GBO

I've been around UT practices a few times over the last two years and from what I've seen UT don't have a coach on there staff who coaches "harder" than Hiestand but obviously your judged on your ability of coaching by how your players produce and his are NOT producing. Not sure what the problem is but I know when Lying Lane was our coach we had a GREAT ground game and he did it with two walk-ons on OL (who couldn't start at Knoxville College). I think our players lack heart and that nasty attitude it takes to play that position. Wisconsin always has a great line and they get a bunch of in-state guys who aren't heavily recruited and they get it done. Maybe we should start recruiting heart and not talent at that position. I think it is youth. Past two games the defense has started slow. Once Wilcox made adjustments and got his youngsters calmed down the defense settled in. They spend alot of time on the field (not good when you are thin at DL and LB). Give them time and a breather this will be a good defense.

Not totally convinced coach Wilcox is the answer but I have to admit our defense has shown improvement this year.
