I am disappointed, but already got over with. The final score was in the record book, and nothing can be and should be done.
By the way, what made you think that my boy Daniel "Cool-Dude" Lincoln would not kick the ball right into Cody's fat tits, for the third time, had we granted the chance to re-kick?
Sorry guys, but we look like a bunch of little b**ches. All this whining is pathetic. We didn't take care of business...end of story. We really need to stop and assess our attitude as fans if we're going to devote 20+ pages to whining about a no call that would almost never be made by any official in that situation. This isn't Gaffney in the endzone, fellas. We got that kick blocked. The whole thing hurts, but deal with it. This whole thread is embarrassing...wish we could just remove it. We should already be looking to next week. Instead, we're showing just how pathetic we can be when things don't go our way. Let's just suck it up and move on.
It's obvious that UT is back. Great coaching on offense and defense to turn this team around from where it was earlier in the season. Here's a bit from si.com to explain the reason for a "no penalty".
Officials' blown call*doesn't matter as Alabama edges Tennessee - Andy Staples - SI.com
If everybody saw the game for what it was and not through orange colored shades they would be saying "wow what a great game" instead of crying about it
This thread is total B.S. I don't want to win a great game like this because the other team celebrated. They beat us fair and square. Period.
Bet you the writer lives in Bham. The flag should have been thrown. Then let them sort it out. Result, no time left, no re-kick, or whatever.
Tks on congrats. Our boys dont' quit anymore but it's still a loss.

Blown call doesn't matter as Alabama edges Tennessee

Now, about that non-call on Cody. Yes, an SEC officiating crew screwed up again. This time, it didn't matter.
Howls erupted after Cody's goal block saved Alabama's bacon. Cody indeed removed his helmet while still in the field of play. That's a big no-no, and it usually merits a 15-yard penalty. But here's where the howlers are wrong. Even if officials had flagged Cody, Tennessee wouldn't have gotten another kick.
Because Alabama blocked and recovered the ball, Alabama had possession. The game can't end on a defensive penalty, but because of the possession change, Alabama wasn't on defense. We'll let SEC spokesman Charles Bloom take it from here.
"The foul for taking helmet off is a live ball foul treated as a dead-ball foul," Bloom wrote in an e-mail Saturday night. "That is, if it happens on a play where time does not expire then the penalty is enforced on the following play. However since the clock ran out on that play, then there is no next play, so there is no penalty to mark off."
Still, only a week after an Arkansas-Florida debacle that got an SEC crew suspended for three weeks, the conference could ill afford for another crew to miss such a clear call. It would have been nice if an official could have flagged Cody. Then referee Matt Austin could have explained to a national television audience why, despite the penalty on Cody, the game was still over.
Instead, the conspiracy theorists got more ammunition.

BTW, time had expired before Cody removed his helmet. Game over. No penalty. Bloom's explanation should have been more clear than the way he stated.

I find this thread to be one of the most embarassing as a long time Vol fan. Fact is we didn't do our job and keep them from blocking the kick. Then we totally quit on the play as the ball sat there behind the line of scrimmage for what seemed like an eternity. I was yelling at the tube to go pick it up and run it in. We had every opportunity to do that. Some helmet technicality is what I'd expect from other fans - not ours.

Do what we're supposed to in first 59:59 of game you dont have to worry about last second.
