If you are still trying to "establish the run" with 2 minutes to go in the game, then it has obviously not worked up to that point. I still cannot figure out why he didn't at least try to throw a fade to the corner of the endzone. It either gets caught or falls incomplete......
And that's exactly why UCLA was able to stop it. That's exactly why we lost.
Pretty sure this is Tennessee football we're talking about. We should be able to get enough push to gain a couple yards in 2 plays, especially against a non-SEC opponent. Oh well, it just shows you how bad Fulmer let it get.

Why run up the middle with 1 yard to go for a win? Our o-line should always be able to push back a tired d-line in our own house for a win no matter who they are. That was a total lack of heart. Come on 3 feet and your 2-0!
I realize I'm dragging up yesterday's thread, but just wanted to add that I didn't like the call up the middle on this play either... it seems to me that UCLA stuffed that up the middle call maybe twice on that same drive, and I was hoping for a pitch-out to the strong side..
BUT...
In any case, it's hard to win games when you can't recover the opposition's fumbles and you've got your own QB throwing 5 interceptions.
Just felt like stating the obvious...
The only way I would want JC with the ball would be to pitch it out to BB and let him beat their LB to the nylon. Pathetic play call on 4th.
It didn't work the prior two plays! Kiffin disappointed me with his playcalling almost as much as JC made me angry.
