Crompton has played worse than any QB I've ever seen at the D1 level. Nick Stephens has played okay, but anyone would look spectacular compared to JC. Why not give BJ a chance to play? There is absolutely nothing to lose. See what this guy can do!

They're gonna say because he hasn't had enough reps with first team, he doesn't have the arm, etc.

I'd say most of the coaches are worrying about which moving service they'll use. The water boy at qb probably wouldn't be any worse IMO.

I don't understand why they don't at least put him in at the end of these ass whippings

Every player on the team is supposed to get a fair shake and equal chance at competing for playing time. For some reason, it doesn't seem like BJ has been given a shot. He looked really good in the O&W game. He was much better than NS. I'm not at practice everyday, so maybe there is something there that none of us know about.

didn't Fulmer say after the game that they will probably red shirt Coleman now that the season is done....a way to make it easier for him to transfer in my opinion

If he has had enough reps to look decent at this point he should play. At this point theres nothing to lose by doing everything you can to set up for next season. Call this an extremely early spring practice.

Hell, Put BERRY at QB and let him show you what he can do...He is our most exciting player anyways...He gains more yards per 1 INT than the offense gains the entire game!

Sitting in the stands last night I was thinking the same thing.

Coleman needs a shot this season to play. We know that JC isn't the answer, Stephens has created some success for moments in the games, but we need to at least give him playing time in case Stephens gets hurt. We aren't going to win much, maybe Wyo if we are lucky and probably no more SEC games. The idea of fairness for playing time does not seem to apply to this kid....Cut was really high on him so maybe that is the reason...Smart boy out of a good high school. He can learn plays and maybe give us a little excitement for a changes. Last night was sickening.

The coaches have said that BJ is the smartest QB on the team, but he doesn't have the arm of Stephens or crompton. If this is true why the hell not put in BJ? We all know that Ainge didn't have arm strength, but made great reads and smart throws(most of the time).

:) that would end pretty bad though honestly...

The real problem in the O-line. No QB can perform with they way they are performing.

They are the real mystery of this team. Only two sacks last year, great off season weight work, one more year experience, NFL contracts on the line, and the worst line we have seen in years.

how much arm strength do you need to throw a screen pass? Or a drag across the middle? Poor excuse from fulmer.

if he doesnt have the arm why was he recruited so heavily????? seen the kid play for years not the strongest arm but is a gamer. give him a chance way past nothing to lose now

4 sacks last year was due to ainge getting rid of the ball or that stat would have been alot higher than that

Its not like he has a noodle for an arm. Its just that Crompton and Stephens have major guns. His arm is a lot better than say.. Rick Clausen's.

partly yes, but the d-line wasnt getting through our o-line and straight up in the qbs face every other play. Ainge did throw the ball away alot last year, but the defense wasnt getting through near as easily as now....i blame the whole "swap the sides of the line" idea

rick clausen is a perfect example of why arm strength is important even if you are a sharp qb. one of the biggest problems with the 2005 offense was that rick couldn't stretch the field. i doubt coleman is as limited as clausen was, but just wanted to throw that thought out there for you.

He isn't close to Rick's level imo. Far beyond that. Rick had one of the weakest arms I've seen for a starting QB at a major college program.
