Vandy exists in the SEC to keep all of our academic averages up and to be a doormat. They have to stay clean to be useful to us. Theoretically, they could be a problem because Nashville is the best town in the SEC, but all they are is a flash in the pan. Barely that even. The institution may invest in the program, but they'll never be able to compete on standards. Their coach just has them playing a little above their skill level. Like Pearl. Only difference is he's a complete jackass.

He's going to over do it one day if he stays there. Fortunately for him, he won't.

In your opinion would you take Strong, Golden, Butch Jones, etc. over Franklin? I wouldn't. I respect your opinion if yes, however. I'm not saying Franklin is my first choice by any means, but he would be at the top of my realistic choice list. But maybe and probably that's just me. Stoops, Gundy, Patterson, etc aren't going anywhere.

IF we have no chance w/Gruden, then bring me OU's HC (Stoops). If not Stoops, then idk who to try & get.

Much rather have Strong or Jones over Franklin. I think if someone put a gun to my head and tried to make me pick Franklin, I don't think that would turn out to well for me.

Also, Franklin has never beaten a team that ended the season with a winning record. That should immediately disqualify him from EVER coaching at UT.

The point of the thread is this. If you consider strong a high level candidate which I very much do, then considering Franklin any differently is only an example of being prideful.

Both are proven recruiters. Franklin even more so IMO.

Both have taken their programs to the highest level of success possible. Franklin even more so as his 8wins this year are the most since 82 there and strong has done exactly what petrino did there a few years back

IMO if you endorse strong you have no choice but to endorse franlkin as well.

Strong has true SEC ties and relationships, that Franklin only faps to at night. Strong coached in the SEC for 10 years, and has strong ties to recruiting areas UT doesn't really have access to right now. Strong also helped lead UF's defense to 2 national titles under Urban Meyer.

If you seriously think that people should or could endorse Franklin, equal to or over Strong, then you should probably stop posting.

Strong was busy helping to sign top recruiting classes in the SEC, while Franklin was cutting his teeth on Ralph Friedgen's jock strap.

I like strong A lot but what Franklin has done at vandy is more impressive that what strong has done at Louisville. Strong has a better assistant resume i agree but comparing the two is a fair debate IMO and that's the point.

Dude, Vandy won 5 games in the SEC, and the teams they beat won a total of 5 games combined in the SEC. Strong's resume would get him hired 10 out of 10 times he went up against Franklin's current resume at any SEC job.

No, doing it year in and year out would. Alas, the last recruiting class he had was 29th in the nation, 9th in the SEC. I'm not impressed with Franklin yet, and neither should the college football world.
