Why not Franklin?

Like him or not, but James Franklin is a good coach and can recruit like a machine. What he has done at Vandy is impressive. He has 3 4* players committed now and is in the top 15. Franklin will not be the coach at Vandy next season. He will be lured away by another school, because the dude can flat out coach.

Even if he is a douche, you have to give to dude props. Dude turned a team that was 2-10 2 years ago into a team that's won more SEC games this year than Dooley's teams did in 3 years time.

I know no one here remembers what a good coach looks like.....but, Franklin is doing things at vandy that have rarely or never been accomplished under any circumstances.

No. Franklin is a tool. Even when I take off the "vandy sucks" glasses, i still don't like the guy. He comes off as snobby and arrogant. I don't have to have a nice guy as long as he wins ball games but I at least want to be able to stand him when he speaks. ugh to Franklin.

Just because Franklin is a nicer guy than Dooley doesn't mean he should be liked. He still sucks.

Like Franklin or not, he kicked our ass all night long and did it with class. The guy has his playerers wanting to win and it shows.

Whether you like Franklin or not, saying the guy can't coach is just dumb. Dooley might have stepped into a bad situation, but Franklin did exactly inherit a goal mind. What he is doing at Vandy has never been done before in the history of that program. To take them to back to back bowls and be in the top 15 in recruiting is simply impressive. The guy can flat out recruit. UT can at least talk to the guy or just pass him on to the next school, but he will not be coaching at Vandy next season. Someone will get a good coach for a good price. He might be arrogant, but he seems to be able to back it up.

The guy is disrespectful, plain and simple. He comes across as a jerk in his press conferences, and with his remark about coaches' wives, it wouldn't be terribly hard to misconstrue him as a sexist. There have also been stories about the way he treated Vol fans as he was leaving Neyland after their loss last year.

Do you really want a guy like this representing the state's flagship university?

Franklin is gonna win 8 games.....in his second year at Vandy.......sign a top 20 class......oh yeah, his teams juniors and seniors are pretty much only 2 star players
