Im still waiting for JG to lead this team to a win against a quality SEC opponent. I cant recall one to date.

You beat Chattanooga for Christ sake. And you think based off of that, the vols should now expect to beat the gators. Beating Chattanooga, I don’t care how bad to blew them out, doesn’t mean that the team is one iota better than it was after the Ga.State or BYU game.
Lol, and anyone that HAS played a down of football wouldn’t expect to beat the gators just because you blew out a team that literally every other div.1 team would have done the same too. AND they don’t have the Franks anchor weighing them down. Trask is much better for their offense. So they got better last week. The vols, ehh. Did they really improve? Hard to tell against Chattanooga.

Don't get too excited about that, USC lost their starting QB and had to start a true freshman and he played horrible...Was a big win for them but they got lucky that they had a new qb in the game.

Most ppl, myself included, can’t get around the history. Like I’ve said the last X years, I believe UT is good enough to beat Florida. I would love to be wrong about the outcome and WHEN we win on Saturday I will be one of the first ones back in here to tell y’all how dumb I was to doubt.

Obviously, because they keep coming back for more. What's your point? If they were tied of being miserable they would have stopped caring. Where do you think the word fan comes from? Fanatics are just a reflection of the product on the field, no more no less but true fanatics always come back for more. So embrace the negativity when deserved... Like now because they will exude positivity when the team is rolling.

My point is that the constant negativity, regardless of warranted or not, is exhausting and contagious. You speak of fans being fanatic but are they really? Or do they simply enjoy the drama that the negativity brings? I don't see the majority of them being fanatics at all. Just the opposite. I see them as being fair-weather fans that jump on the bandwagon when we are rolling and whiny ass drama queens when we're not. Anyone that's been around or watched football realizes that we have issues, but we also have a lot of positives to go along with it. At any rate Its a message board filled with a bunch of anonymous people that are completely irrelevant in the scheme of things anyway, so I guess its simply a moot point. I used to come here to actually talk football, get some news about the team, opinions on subject matter etc. Not anymore, it's just a big bitch fest.

We beat a Fing high school team and lost to another high school team on our schedule.

Not saying we can’t win, just nothing we’ve seen so far would give anyone optimism

It's pretty simple; can we win? Sure. Can anything happen? Yes, in theory.

Has this type of reasoning been used to death the past decade for a variety of opponents, and some of us just now laugh at it? Yep.
