He has got to fire Dooley. Not only for the good of the programs financial situation with loss of ticket sales and donations we will face. But can you imagine how ugly it's going to be in the off season and then after we go get our teeth kicked in (yet again by a good team) by Oregon? The fan outcry we see now will pale in comparrison.
Hart really has no choice and he has already made it, just hasn't announced it.

To fire Dooley and hes asst. this year is going to cost 10 million, then to hire a new coach and asst. Its going to cost another 5 mil atleast......I Dont think a few 1,000 ticket sales are going to make a dent in that.

Face it, if dooley wins out, and wins his bowl game.

He will be our 2013 coach.

Does everyone think a coaching change will lead to a win against Oregon next year? What about at Bama & at Florida?

To be honest If we don't get Gruden , strong , Patterson or Peterson at Boise state id rather just keep Dooley. because I don't want smart or any other assistant coach and those are the only guys we look to maybe have a chance at getting? Unless stoops wants to come or maybe tressel?

I think it is time to make a change as well, but is there a clear upgrade available that is willing to take the job?

Honestly, there are lots of clear upgrades. There are plenty of successful mid major coaches out there. That's a clear upgrade over an unsuccessful mid major coach.

I get that everyone wants a big name. I just want a winner.

Hart has a choice!!!!!

Decide between keeping Dooley or firing Dooley and paying his buy-out, plus hire a coach from a lower level school who is not prepared for this job OR keep Dooley until a big named coach becomes interested in U.T.

Suppose Dooley is fired. No one is really interested in the job, so we hire the coach from Southern Miss, Grambling, East Carolina or Marshall. Then he posts the same results as Dooley and we keep under achieving.

Then a season later, Gruden is interested in the U.T. job. What does Hart do? Fire the new coach to hire Gruden?

If no one is interested in the job, then keep Dooley. Once someone is interested in the job, then fire Dooley and bring in the new coach.... Maybe next season or two seasons from now.

A few thousand ticket sales? Look at the attendance at the homecoming game this Saturday. Then tell me.

That's not the question. The question is that after 3 years we're still getting drilled by good teams so should we stop the bleeding or not?

I blame Hart as much as I blame Dooley(If not more).

It was his bright idea, to hire Sal.

Was it Harts fault the 1st 2 seasons that we couldn't beat a good pop warner team? Is it Harts fault that Dooley has never in his entire career as a HC beaten a ranked team? Is it Harts fault that Dooley's 1st DC jumped ship because he could see the writting on the wall?

Neyland holds 102,000. If it is only filled with say 72,000 fans per game then do the math:

30,000 empty seats X $49 per ticket = $1,470,000 per game X 7 home games = $10,290,000 not including concession sales my man.

Yeah a few 1,000 tickets make a massive difference.

Just to give you an idea....on StubHub.com, you can get tickets starting at $16 for the Troy game. For $37 bucks you can sit on Troy's 50. That is ridiculous.

I have already said Dooley has lost this fan base, and that the only direction it can go is down from here. UNLESS he wins a bowl game against a decent team. But I am not seeing this being good for season ticket and regular game sales. That's what's gonna force the hand.
