Why does Peyton not like Tee?

The Tennessee Vols showed up and played a good enough game as a team to win.

But if you want to make a silly assertion that one person won the game, then any other name than Al Wilson seems silly. But whatever.

So its wrong for them to say tom brady or any other qb has won superbowls.....or any game for that matter, right?

Who the hell even knows what Peyton really did or didn't do with Schiano? He's not on the BOT or in the AD, so any advice or consent he gave was informal.

Furthermore how does this story about him "approving" schiano (which would not have meant d--- one way or the other) jibe with reports that Haslem and Currie played it really close to the vest? How involveed was Peyton?

Also I doubt Peyton wastes time worrying about what Tee is doing. Peyton is a very busy guy with speaking engagements, commercials, interviews, and so forth. Tee is probably the last thing on his mind.

Peyton is a narcissist, you don't get where he is without being one. Thus, if anyone can take some his thunder, he would absolutely be against that.

Tee didnt beat Florida. Some fans need to educate themselves.

For someone that has 22,000 post on here, you don't know much about UT football. They definitely beat Florida, which was the #2 ranked team in the country, 20-17 in overtime in 1998. Maybe you should educate yourself before posting.

Remember Tee just interviewed for his first HC position at Georgia southern and they didn't even think he is ready

Georgia Southern wants someone that runs the triple option. They are enamored with it for some reason. I guess since Paul Johnson was there.

I think he needs more play calling experience myself, but I cannot predict the future.

I would rather him a decent job; prove himself and then come to UT rather than to come to the UT and fail. Like Majors went to ISU, then Pitt and then UT, which he had several tough seasons before he got going. Those days are gone.

Tee coming too soon would seriously be bad for him.

As far as a favored son/OC, I think Cooter would be a great choice. He is ready.

So you want to do him a favor...He should go get a job that he is overqualified for until you and Peyton think he is ready....got it.

Dumbest post ever. That says a lot here too. Your post sucked, your counter argument posts sucked, your logic sucked. It's a team sport and last I saw it showed a W, just stop.

I really don't get all this.

Peyton from the day he graduated until now has always been a large part of UT. He comes back for games. He has visited the team ... many times throughout the years ... like many VFLs. He is a donor. He established a scholarship ... etc. etc. etc.

Tee Martin - not so much - yet we have this group of fans, VFL's etc that want to act like Tee is the next coming of the greatest head coach without him ever proving he can actually perform at that level.

I don't get it. I really don't.

The 1998 TEAM beat Florida. That TEAM bonded together to overcome the loss of a key player. The TEAM beat Florida and the TEAM won a NC.

I think part of it is because we're tired of seeing the mess that has been our program since the last Tennessee guy had the keys to it. Tee is about the only alumni out there who appears to be wanting a head coaching gig whose name most of the fanbase actually knows. For example, go ask the average Tennessee fan to name an assistant coach currently coaching with Tennessee ties, I would argue that 90% would say Tee Martin, but then when you throw out a name like Kevin Steele, they'd have no clue who you're talking about. So, to bring it back to my comment about this mess, I think we're just ready to put the program back into the hands of a Tennessee guy. Now me personally, if you have someone else who is a proven winner and has won just about anywhere, I would much rather give him the keys than Tee (aka Mike Leach), but that's just me. However, I would have no problem seeing Tee coach here, but only if others say no.

Neither was Lincoln Riley.

Completely different situations like mentioned above. Also at least Lincoln had 6 years as an OC. Tee has had 2 and it’s not like his offenses have set the world on fire. In fact, their fans have been complaining about them and got to the point Darnold criticized it too. If this were a blind test and coaching resumes were compared, there would be widespread outrage that someone w his coaching resume was made our head coach.

So Alabama made a mistake taking Saban?

So Clemson made a mistake taking Swinney?

So Texas A&M is making a mistake taking Jimbo Fisher?

So UCLA is making a mistake taking Chip Kelly?

So Florida is making a mistake taking Dan Mullen?

None of these are former players at the schools they are now coaching at.

Schools that want to win - go for the best coach. They don't put blinders on and only look at former players.
