So I have a friend and he was wondering why I hate Alabama so much so I was hoping I could start a thread where everyone could give a story or maybe a joke of why they hate Bama so much so he could fully understand

It's bama. That's all.

pretty much nailed it. They are our main rival and have been since anyone on this board has been watching UT football. It started bad and just keeps going

On November 18, 1901, the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee first locked horns on a football field. At the contest's end, the score was tied, nothing had been resolved, and about two thousand fans were on the field at Tuscaloosa, fighting.

It's tradition, It's Neyland vs Bryant, It's the 3rd saturday in october, It's orange and white vs crimson and white, both are legendary programs and both are in the top 10 in most stats dating back to the golden years like bowl wins and appearances...So much more

When the crowd cheered when Tony Robinson got his leg broke by Cornelius Bennett. I lost total respect for anything Bama.

Frpm someone who lives in Alabama, I can tell you its because of their fans. They were WAY more tolerable before Saban when they sucked. Now that they have some relevance again, they are COMPLETELY miserable to be around. In my opinion they are far worse than any other fans in the SEC. I think a large problem with their fan base is due to the fact that there are a TON of rednecks in Alabama that don't go to college, and if you don't go to college you sort of default to Alabama rather than Auburn. Hence, you have a large group of relatively low class, uneducated fans who have nothing else but college football.

Both of my little brothers are Bama fans (mom says she droped them as babys) and I can tell you this. Bama fans live in the past, they have nothing to look forward to. They all know in their tiny little hearts it will not be long before they are back on probation or Saban leaves and they will be back where they belong in the mid pack SEC west.

I hate them because, as a child of the 80's/early 90's in east Tennessee, Bama was the school of choice for every front runner or person who hates the hometown team just because (I'd say every college town has these people). Now it seems they've moved on to be Florida fans, but growing up with these people, who had absolutely no connection with the state or team, still kinda fuels my hatred for them.

It is important because this is the color of fall. This is what gets talked about. This is what makes or breaks a senior season. This is why when its 100 degrees on August practice feilds, the sound of shoulder pads still pop. This is why extra medical tape, and pre wrap gets shipped in weeks in advance. This is why you have chills when you hear the fight song in the off season. This is why you fill up the cathedral that is Neyland. This is why you stand. This is why you came. This is Tennessee/Alabama, and in a matter of a few short minutes, both states will feel the outcome for the rest of their lives.

Sorry, got a little pumped up thinking about it.

Gig em, go Vols.

1. you know they are opening a new ZOO in Alabama??....They are gonna fence the whole state in!!!!

2. They were going to do a CSI Tuscaloosa show, but they had to scrap it.....They couldn't solve anything, all of the DNA is the same!!!!

LOL, those never get old!!!!

In 2006, I was at the UT-Bama game, and the Bama fans that were there were cheering when Lamarcus Coker broke his leg on a kickoff.

On the following Monday in one of my classes, a girl in my class, who is apparently from Alabama and a big Alabama fan, was complaining about what poor sports UT fans are and how she got a bunch of people razzing her about the outcome of the game.

This, ladies and gentleman, is why you never trust a bammer - Hypocrites, liars, and idiots.

totally agree. most of the bammers that refer to the program as "we", can only tell you saban is their coach, julio is 'awesome' and the bear was the best ever. my father-in-law gets on me all the time about these ut fans that used to give him hell. then, last year at his house me and a few of my buddies (who are, unfortunately, bammers) started getting on me. I said something to the effect of how it was cool to be a bama fan again b/c they were decent and where the hell were they the year before and that shut em up.
