Where he went to school doesn't matter as much IMO. Whatever someone is doing 70-80 hours a week is all that matters to them. But coming from FL and AL, he obviously believed there was enough here for him to sell the next good coaching hires and keep the alumni...doubt he would have left even a #2 role at AL for a lesser program. Only way for him to get a primo other job from here is to have success at TN. So far, Cuonzo
The thing I like about what I take from Hart's bio bio...he knows what should be doing. He won't bow to the highs and lows of anonymous chatboards. He won't freak like hamilton did mid-season and fire an underperforming legend in a horrible show of timing, judgement, etc for the likes of LK.
I expect he is actively/quietly searching for a Dooley replacement. If he find ones that is an upgrade (obviously most would be) in the present, he will make the call post KY bowl or no bowl.
The next hire is the critical one. The talent cupboard is in much better shape than after what LK did (transfers, dropped commitments, etc). Need to pick a real good coach if available. And while I don't want to give DD more time (just don't think he can win), I also don't want us to hire below our stature like we did last time given the loving timing from USC/Kiffin. I would even consider keeping Dooley one more year for continuity's sake if the alternative is not ND/Kelly type talent.
To that note, I don't want to buy Gruden...just want him to come if he's hungry to coach again. Fulmer was a great coach / recruiter...he just relaxed/got lazier at the end of his career w/o putting the right assistants in place to handle that. Only want someone w/ a fire to be coaching today.
