Why did the cops ask Vol fan to sit down last night?

Obviously, you agree with the Kentucky fans, and want to just sit back and watch.

You try to go to a game a year. You go in an hour before kickoff.

We go to every home game. We get the Vol Walk an hour before it starts, and when it's done we go in the stadium, two hours before kick off. We stay until the team leaves the field (sometimes it's after they sing with the band, and sometimes it's as soon as the game is over). Then we drive back home.

You do things your way, and everyone else will do the same. You're "Kentucky fan" crap is stupid. And by my estimation, I support the team 60-70% more than you do.

Have you ever been to a game in Kentucky???

I have and let me tell you, there's no one standing at thier games and if you do you are in the minority. Kentucky fans will yell at you and demand that you sit down and be quite!

As far as my support, I don't have presently have season tickets, it's not because of my lack of support for the Vols but rather my occupation and distance from Neyland that I reside. I live approximately 400 miles from UT, it isn't a day's drive like it is for many on this board. So please don't condem me for attending only a few games every year.

I support the Vols to the best my ability. I hope that you do the same.

GBO!!!

I'm starting to think that those who keep ignoring the fact that no one on this thread is saying to sit down the whole game are simply incapable of understanding what anyone else says, and that's why they won't sit down for 90 seconds when asked.

I'm sorry, that's a terrible sentence, lol. It has been a long-azz day.

Obviously you have no answer and realize that you standing silently doesn't help at all. So deep down you know you are an ass.

Well that's completely uncalled for on your part.

I have always found that when folks resort to name calling they don't have any thing else productive to add to the conservative.

I don't think so......I think he just gave you his honest opinion

I will refrain from my honest opinion, except for stating that those who tell others to sit at the game are just plain wrong.

Live and let live. I hope we can all agree on that.

But you're okay with insulting someone who doesn't "stand up" for three hours?

If you have been insulted by any of my comments, I guess that you are pretty thin skinned because in the world that I live in there is nothing wrong standing at a college football game or stating that imo if you want to sit at a college football game then go to Kentucky where it is acceptable behavior because it's not at UT. Standing and cheering for the Vols at Neyland is my idea of fun time, I'm sorry if it's not yours.

Oh, gunner. Bless your heart. Enjoy your game next year. I hope it's a win. I'm out.

I'm all for live and let live as long as it doesn't infringe on me or prevent me from enjoying the event I also paid to attend.

Why is common courtesy so foreign on here?

GBO! And btw, I went to the UT at Ole Miss game this year to support the Vols. It is perfectly acceptable to stand and cheer there too as most did except during timeouts and at the half.

I stand as the situation warrants...Running thru the T, kickoffs and returns, big plays, scoring drives/plays etc.

The point I made is you dont know "why" somebody may be sitting. There are more people than you want to believe with some sort of impairment or disability in addition to just being one of our older Vol fans that we need to respect.

Then I would simply ask from now on that people display an ADA tag around their neck like on their car rear view mirrors.

I am an usher in the stadium. Whether it is liked or not, the person has a right to stand as long as he is not standing on the seat. The cop had no jurisdiction to make him sit, and the usher of that section should have told the officer to leave him alone. If the cop continued the issue, a stadium supervisor should have asked him to move on. I agree that there should be consideration for those who sit around you if you stand, but he really does have the right to stand up for the entire game. The police were out of line.
Is that you Mr. coffee??

how about setting up a standing area for wild crazy type fans and an old folks area with recliners and headphones so people can take naps during the game??

I have no clue how the standers don't get what we're saying. It's not hard.

On offense, you don't get loud. You want to be as quiet as possible unless there's a big play. You may clap and holler for first downs, though.

Why is it necessary to stand while the offense is on field? That's silly. And it keeps others from enjoying their experience if you're standing in these situations.

On defense, I agree. Stand the entire time and yell the entire time.

Why is this so hard to understand?

My opinion is this: you bought your tickets, so that means that ticket spot is yours til game ends. Hell you can stand on your head the whole game if ya wanted. My problem is when you have the fans that doesn't stand at all throughout the game, for example a couple of heavy set women that always sit behind my season tickets. They always tell me they cant stand, I politely reply how did you walk here then? Maybe you should invest your tickets to another section, because having tickets in the Y sections is always rowdy due to most of the activities that go on in the endzone, Dj, Vols tunnel, Recruiting section, player families etc.

Nothing wrong with standing when the Vols are on offense, just don't be loud.

Standing at Neyland has been a traditional way to support the Vols before many of y'all were even born, even when the Vols are on offense too.

Gunner, two hours into the game, nothings going on and there is a lull in the action... I bet that seat behind you looks very inviting.

Politely talking to fat women might get you some phone numbers...
