Why Bray is getting so much negative publicity?

He's been having fun. Hopefully he had his fun and is getting down to business. Time will tell. He's done nothing out of the ordinary and is in the spotlight that most don't have to face. He needs to understand that he's one of those that just always gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Hope springs eternal...

My friend got pulled over twice in a month. Law enforcement was involved. Maybe I should go chastise him and tell him to get his life on track.

if he looks anything like the dude in your profile pic, then yes. plus, no one writes about your friend or cares about him.

also, quit making idiotic comparisons.

An idiotic comparison is taking the equivalent of a speeding ticket and acting like the dude has character issues because he's a hardened criminal.

I suppose that makes you an idiot.

Bingo, there was Duke football player that was left paralyzed in jet ski incident July 4th. There Is a difference between having fun and being stupid.

Are you suggesting that line is drawn somewhere between whatever Tyler did and somewhere between whatever that Duke player did?

Discussing that with him is your prerogative as his friend. I'm not concerned with his behavior because I have no interest in the success of him or the company for which he works. Tyler is "employed" by the University of Tennessee football team, and is essentially the face of the football program. His behavior is disconcerting at the very least to fans, and we shouldn't just have to be complacent with his immaturity.

does you inform your boss every time you get a ticket? Does he relay his concern over your immaturity?

Nice. The minute someone disagrees, just start whipping out the ad hominem attacks.

I'm frustrated by the beer bottle crap, yes. But this is literally nothing. It's a complete nonstory that a handful of pessimistic blowhards are going to ram down our throats as a shining example of the guy's poor character. Again, it is comparable to lambasting a person who has a speeding ticket. It's a joke.

Bray does not care one bit what people think of him. He has that F it in his system. As long as he makes the grades, performs on the field, and does not do anything that will get him kick off the team he will become a legend!:salute:

No no no, we should embrace and encourage Bray to throw beer bottles at things all the time. He's in college, so he gets a free pass no matter what.

Big difference; Tyler Bray is the face of a football program whose immaturity directly relates to leadership ability. Because of his notoriety, it's common knowledge when he does something stupid and he should be held to a greater standard solely because it's common knowledge.

Case in point, the Arizona CFO who was fired for his "immaturity" that became public knowledge.

Yeah, nothing screams "leadership" and "face of the program" quite like this.

It's not twisting words when you're implying that the guy needs a beating for getting a ticket.

so now a slap to the back of someone's head is a "beating"? it's embarrassing to him and a form of telling him to quit his s***. it's a shame i actually have to explain this to you.

you really equate a CFO berating a fast food worker and a college student getting a ticket on a jetski (that is now dismissed)?

you still never answered the question as to whether your boss lectures you on every ticket you receive. After all, to some you could be the face of your company too

I see where you're coming from and in no way do I think that these actions should result in the demise of Bray, nor do I think it's the biggest character flaw possible. But Bray's behavior on the lake is a lot different than a minor speeding ticket and happens to fall in line with the rest of his immature behavior.

He's a college kid and this stuff happens, yes. But he's also a major contributor to an SEC school. "Boys will be boys" doesn't work here, but neither does ridiculous overreaction. I think that Dooley needs to berate him and make it clear that any further immature conduct will result in, at bare minimum, a small benching or reduced privileges.

There's no need for a lecture to begin with if no one finds out about the ticket or incident; you're grasping for straws trying to compare a "big" story in Knoxville media to a random ticket.

And, yes, I do equate the CFO and Bray. Both are individuals of note and have a higher accountability for their actions. I'm not saying that they should receive the same punishment or that they did the same thing, it's just that you need to take a different approach when dealing with a public figure.

Apparently not, considering the citation was dismissed.

None of us were there, so we can't say how terrible his behavior was. Since the citation was dismissed, I think we can safely assume that someone in power thought it wasn't really warranted in the first place, which gives us absolutely nothing on which to base opinions on Bray's character stemming from this incident.
