Why Bray is getting so much negative publicity?

In my opinion, the number one reason is because these journalists have nothing better to write about and get more views from negative publicity rather than positive. I guarantee both of these Bray incidents and the Darick Rogers incidents are all over-exaggerated. This comes with being a good player or organization. Hence the Cowboys and Jets. The Cowboys are a multi-billion dollar franchise and get a lot of negative publicity for the smallest of things. The Jets have the legendary Tim Tebow but the press picks on them for a locker fight which literally happens on every single team in the NFL. The media just needs more to write about, plain and simple.
Tyler is in college for crying out loud. Do they think he is going to be a saint? It is supposed to be the best time of their lives! Leave the kid alone this will all pass. Hes still a great QB.

Or he could stop doing dumb things, especially less than a month before the season.

He's been having fun. Hopefully he had his fun and is getting down to business. Time will tell. He's done nothing out of the ordinary and is in the spotlight that most don't have to face. He needs to understand that he's one of those that just always gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Didn't Peyton also get into some trouble when he was here? Something about mooning some chick in the locker room? Let the kid be a kid sometimes...how does he act on the field?

Yea he's not allowed to have fun. I bet you never did anything dumb did you ? He is high profile and all the media does is wait for a mistake so they can write about it.

He gets publicity because people care. There are whole message boards dedicated to discussing his every move, if you haven't noticed. There are even whole radio stations dedicating long blocks of time to discuss UT football (of which Bray is a part). If you don't want this sort of silly overreaction by the media, don't participate.

Bingo, there was Duke football player that was left paralyzed in jet ski incident July 4th. There Is a difference between having fun and being stupid.

No one outside of our own fanbase/websites/radioshows is talking about these things. They get a brief mention on sports sites and no one other than us cares, because it's obvious how trivial this crap is. Even my UGA buddies who can't wait to give me any kind of hell about UT let these slide without much mention.

I'm serious. Go on the interwebs and try to find a serious journalist outside of TN that is reporting on Bray getting a "citation" for a boating mishap.

When you take on the job of QB at a Major D1 school you get with it:
1) being overhyped
2) being over publicized
3) being over criticized
4) being over scrutinized
d) being over _______inized

Sports Radio and Sports Message Boards are part of the territory. Athletes, especially high profile, have to accept that as part of the job.

But, it would help if he were a better QB. That would shut up half of the negative talk.

this occured July 4th, and I believe the report stated "HOT-DOGGING on a jetski"

I don't want the negative publicity, but this is blown way out of proportion..

IMO this is 100 times less serious than the bottles/golf balls BS

Several reasons. He's the starting QB at UT and at SEC media days we made a big deal pointing out how much he'd matured. When you do that you put an even larger target on the player.

yep. they might be minor issues, but they add up after a while. that's two within a month's time frame in which there has been law enforcement involved. DD needs to slap the piss out of the backside of Bray's head.

My friend got pulled over twice in a month. Law enforcement was involved. Maybe I should go chastise him and tell him to get his life on track.
