It is my alma mater, and if I am able to go I will go whether or not the team is good or bad. Go Vols!

This. I don't care if they suiting up against Bearden Middle school. It's Football Time in Tennessee!

Im going out to see first hand what kind of team we have and not just speculate on what we have. I will be at the game because I am a "Real" fan (just kidding). I just want to see what UT is and what UT is not. I know its Martin...but it will give us all an idea of what to expect out of certain players.

I just found out that my 8 month old has to have a ticket. I know the economy is tough and all, but isn't that a little much :)

A chance to party hard Friday night, all day Saturday, drink a bunch of jack daniels, eat a ton of burgers and brats at the tailgate party, and admire the finest in UT women all day!

I am amazed anyone starts threads on here. If it is such a stupid question, then don't answer.

While I cannot make it to UTM, I actually often-times go to a patsy game over a big-time game. Although nothing beats the feeling/atmosphere of pulling out a win in a big time game, there are several reasons for picking a lesser opponent game: (1) for us out-of-staters, you can watch the big-time opponent on TV; (2) for those of us who do not have season tickets, it is cheaper to buy scalped tix to the lesser games; (3) less of a chance for a long depressed drive home; (4) I enjoy the game no matter who we are playing; and (5) I still enjoy tailgating and hanging out with other vol fans.

Yeah, when I was in school a buddy of mine tried to bring his family to a Vol Basketball game in the Buzz era (in other words, there were more empty seats than full ones) and they said his infant had to have a ticket. They actually ended up letting them in without one though.

And all these reasons also.:)

I'm going because it's a Tennessee football game. There's 365 days in a year and I can only watch UT play on 12 of those days, which means that only 3% of the time I wake up in the morning I get to say I'm headed to a Tennessee game. The better question is why would I not go, unless I had to work or had some important outside obligation.

I'm going because their is nothing like a Fall Saturday in the shadows of the greatest stadium in all of College Football, I'm going because every time I see the Vol Walk my heart start's pounding, I'm going because hearing Rocky Top 80 times in 1 day is'nt enough, I'm going because seeing that Sea of Orange never get's old, I'm going because when that "T" opens I still get chills running down my spine, I'm going because it's CDD's first game & no matter what I'll support this team, I'm going because their is nothing better than Tennessee Football, I'm going because my blood run's Orange!!!!

I'm taking my 4 year old son to his first game in Neyland and:

1. I want (selfishly) his first game in Neyland to be a W
2. I have this coming weekend free from work
3. He is 4, and if he gets so restless I have to leave, I want to leave when UT has a 3 possession lead...
4. It's always great to be a Tennessee Vol. Opponent, current state of the program, etc really don't mean as much to me as a good Saturday in Neyland...

Let me know how this goes. My son (see avatar) will be 5 in November and we barely made through the first half of the O and W game. But I still want to take him to a regular season game pretty bad.

Go and treasure it guy's and gal's. Living in florida it's been 27 years since I've been to neyland. Grabbed as many bowl games down here as I can, the last was the outback bowl against penn in the rain. My wife's first football game. So be "Loud and Proud" you have no idea how blessed you are to be at neyland when they run through the T.

I'm going because I bleed orange, I love UT football, to support the players and coaches, it's not on TV, volwalk, running through the T, Neyland Stadium, orange and white, checkerboard endzones...

I love everything about UT...if you catch my drift. Plus, it's pretty much a guaranteed W, and I would rather attend a W than a L.
