Why Are Democrats Trying to Destroy Our Country?

Support for national popular vote is already over 50 percent and only heading in one direction.

And when Trump wins both the EC and popular vote, what will you be crying for then?

Going to a popular vote will only change the way the candidates campaign.

I actually see the appeal of people like Bernie Sanders. We live in a society where everybody is a number, and we have a culture that promotes selfishness. This extends to major corporations as well as the college education system. If you have seen college tuition lately, you'd see that the millennials are getting saddled with massive amounts of debt. They are trapped by the Federal Government and the Education system that are causing the jacking up of education prices. We have generations now that are losing its person to person humanity that is being lost because of modern technology and cell phone addiction. We are losing our decency because of the pungent loudness of the extremes of both sides that people are forgetting that the people on the internet are human also. It's showing itself by the emotional distance in society today.

This is all resulting in a rising suicide rate, mass shootings, and a perpetual emptiness in the lives of so many. This is causing the segmenting of different populations where we forget that we have commonalities as people. Bernie Sanders and the like are a product of the perpetual hopelessness of the younger generations.

You mean they'd have to start paying attention to everyone? That doesn't sound terrible at all.

California Republican's (who get zero EC votes now) would by percentage of the CA population have more EC votes than more than half the states. They're completely ignored.

I would never entertain 86ing the EC but it is worth noting that there are about 300,000,000 more people here than when it was established.

Preventing grifting seems like a legit game plan. You really think turtle boy in the senate is going to even bring healthcare for all to the floor?

Sounds like a repeat out of Harry Reid's playbook when Republican measures were in play.

would you mind expounding on why it is noteworthy?
The founding fathers were largely concerned with the unknown.....how would westward expansion play out, how many new states would be added, and how large would the new states be.
These are no longer unknowns.

That had absolutely nothing to do with their creation of the EC. They understood the tyranny of pure democracy and knew it wasn't sustainable.

Right, that’s why every other democracy and every state government has collapsed.

The electoral college made sense 250 years ago. Now it is just an antiquated means for a minority of the country to hang onto power.
