I think those who mentioned the psychology hit the nail on the head. If Tennessee has the mentality of just being happy to be there... we lose. If LSU is pissed off, motivated, and out for blood to avenge the Ark loss... we lose.
Any other combination of oulooks by the respective teams and we have a great chance.
Personally, I think Tennessee will play inspired football and Fulmer will coach the game to win. I think LSU will say all the right things this week but still come out flat because their national championship aspirations are 99% gone and the Michigan vacancy WILL be a distraction.
VOLS win surprisingly easy.
In a nut shell:
we've beaten both teams that have beaten LSU; ARK and KY.
edge: Vols
Both LSU and UT played exasperating games to end their regular seasons. Both are dinged up and emotionally depleted.
edge: even
LSU has defeated teams that have dominated the Vols; i.e. Bama and FL.
edge: LSU
I'd call this one a toss up. LSU has a slight edge talent-wise, but I think the Vols want it more.
Is Nebraska considering Les Miles too? Or maybe I should say, is there speculation that Nebraska is interested in Miles?
Hey UT fans, congrats on the win yesterday. I posted on your board earlier this year and picked yall to win the SEC east. And here you are. Make no mistake, LSU is very beatable. We have digressed so damn much since the VA Tech game that it isn't funny. Injuries notwithstanding, our defense is a mere shadow of what we thought it to be early in the season. And Flynn can be inconsistent as hell. I don't think we use our offensive weapons nearly enough or in the right situations either. Anyway, I expect this game to be close as hell, and we could lose very easily. Not to mention the frickin Les Miles saga. If he leaves LSU we won't be losing any sleep over it. If we lose to yall in the SECCG, Miles will have won no championships of any kind here in 3 years with some great talent. Good luck to the Vol Nation.
