Following your logic on name changes then Texas has only been around since 1968. They were the University of Texas. Now they're the University of Texas at Austin.
I had a Texas fan walk into my work today. Out of respect I said "strange to see a fan of the other UT here in Knoxville". He responded with "you know some call us the real UT".
But then we sold the rights? How did that go again?[/
Seems I remember it had something to do with the interlocking "UT" logo and the Mississippi River...
