Who is Jeremy Pruitt?

Not sure if you are being intentionally obtuse or not, but you do realize that Fulmer refused to honor that agreement, said no thanks, and went with Pruitt, right?

It’s hard to say although you’re probably right. Leach has a reputation as extremely difficult to work with.

At this point, I think UT is committed to Pruitt. We desperately need stability ...

Tennessee's expectations were rising this offseason. But the second year of Jeremy Pruitt's tenure is off to a horrible, no good, very bad start.

Georgia State went into Knoxville and stole a victory.

Early in the fourth quarter, Tennessee kicked a go-ahead field goal and took a 23-21 edge. However, the Vols collapsed down the stretch. They surrendered 17 points over a three-drive span while faltering with two giveaways and a four-play turnover on downs. Only a late touchdown closed the deficit to the final, 38-30.

Pruitt is a masterful recruiter, and adding that talent is imperative to turning around the program. That was never going to be a one-year fix, but falling to Georgia State—especially at home—is inexcusable.

Stick a fork.........

Coach Pruitt is a second year coach trying to rebuild a program with a lot of young kids that are also inexperienced on the BIG SEC stage....yeah, I know, that doesn't matter does it...:D

GO BIG ORANGE!

He’s a Bammer who would go back to the state of Alabama in a heart beat.

Didn’t seem to lift a finger or even show emotion after yesterday’s embarrassing loss to a Sun Belt team.

I’d be more than glad to help him pack his bags right now.
That’s what I said when we hired him , best case he’s really good and bama gets him if Saban retires , worst case he’s awful and he eternally buries the program. Based on my current research I don’t think Bama even has his cell number at this point .

True statement . What about the Sun Belt stage though ?

Maybe he's been saying all that to provide excuses for his head coaching deficiencies. We have way too much talent for a 2-10 Sun Belt team to whip our ass..
I love how everyone is saying it’s a loss and you have to move on, isn’t that what we used to do in the 90’s when we got beat by , I dunno a legitimate SEC school! It’s freaking Ga state , and the fact it looked like they had no energy is mind boggling , we have accomplished nothing who are we to take a team lightly ?

Nice blog write up about Jeremy Pruitt and the problems with Tennessee football

COACHES HOT SEAT – "Covering College Football Coaching from Miami to Honolulu"

Per article:
Now let’s see what the Candy Ass Less Than 50% Effort Vols can do against a Below Average to Damn Pitiful and also Barely Coached BYU team on Saturday in a matchup of the #1 and #4 Hot Seat Coaches in College Football!

Oh…Tennessee is only 3-point favorite at Neyland Stadium over BYU and the Cougars record the last 3 years now stands at…wait for it…

11 – 16!

Nice? Vicious 🙂

So it’s all settled in- the loss and disappointment. We all go back to work this coming week and have our prepared reactions to annoying coworkers who will act innocent as they ask with a sheepish, mischievous, and disrespectful grin.

But I wonder who is Jeremy Pruitt? What’s his personality? Why was he so lackadaisical? What’s his main drive? NFL? Stay at Tennessee? Move to what he believes a better program? Why wasn’t he fired up?

Lots of questions I know but does anyone here possibly know him or know someone who knows him? How do they describe him?

He is Gomer Pyle, except dumber

It's a disgrace the way he acts on the TV show, he acts like a petulant child who granny just took a switch to and is making sit at the table and be quiet until everyone is finished. Hell of way to treat the people who pay your overinflated salary.

From: Coaches On Hot Seat article:

And what is Jeremy Pruitt’s record now with 634 days on the job at Tennessee?

5 – 8

Oh…Pruitt has been paid over those 634 days almost…wait for it….

$7 Million-Plus Dollars!

I think he’s going through the motions until he can get his players on the roster, especially Harrison Bailey who seems to be the smart big armed QB that he wants to execute his offense.

I’ve thought this, too. He’s been assured he’ll get 4-5 years to recruit, so he’s basically written off this year. Since he may be waiting for Bailey, he has no interest in playing a younger QB such as Maurer, and creating a “quarterback controversy”, even though playing a smarter better scrambling QB now would help the team win, and bring hope and support for the team and fans. If he doesn’t make the change, he will sink with his decision to put off winning.

Pruitt and Muschamp may be teaming up next season! Both of them will need to get as far away from college football as possible. Hello New Mexico State!
