Who is Jeremy Pruitt?

No talent? Would you switch rosters with GSU for the rest of the season and keep this coaching staff?

The talent excuse is past stupid at this point.

Really? UT isn’t even the best team in the state. Think about that.

You really think we just missed on every single 4 and 5 star prospect on the team? Sure there are busts, but all of them? On paper we are the most talented team in the state. Fact.

This is coaching, culture, and leadership. If you believe lack of talent is what lost us the game against Georgia State....

Let me say that again.

Georgia. State.

...then with all due respect, you are clueless.

SIAP, but to answer the question that was asked.. Who is Jeremy Pruitt?
He’s just a guy that grew up in AL, when AL really hated TN and TN fans, so you know he despised TN growing up. He then grew up went off to college to PLAY FOR AL! Years later as fate would have it, he found himself the DC at AL winning a national title for a state, a school, and a team that he lovessss! And we are supposed to be surprised on why he seems emotionless when TENNESSEE gets its worst loss in program history???? PUUUUUUUGHLEEEEEESE!!! Ask yourself this, do you see him acting this way if he was on the AL sideline????? Helllll NO!!!

UT is 54% since 08. That’s mediocre. That’s reality.

"Who is Jeremy Pruitt?" Here's one answer: from the news stories I've read on other lousy coaches, they all compare it with Pruitt. In other words, Pruitt is the gold standard for crummy coaching.

His personality is different, he’s not coaching like he was after every play.

His body language suggests that he’s not concerned about winning, he’s just going through the motions now, whereas last season he would lose his mind of players made mistakes.

He has lost his desire, passion, and intensity and that’s what made him a good football coach imho.
There was a post, and I can't remember who posted it, that said Pruitt's wife hated it in Knoxville and Pruitt feels like he made a mistake taking the job. I have no idea if that is true or not but it would explain the lack of emotion. If that is the case, he should do the honorable thing and resign and if it isn't true, he needs to find the fire he had last year. There just seems to be no energy on the field or the sidelines. I think the performance against BYU will show whether or not this season still has hope or is a lost cause.

I think he’s going through the motions until he can get his players on the roster, especially Harrison Bailey who seems to be the smart big armed QB that he wants to execute his offense.

There is NOTHING AT ALL that ever indicated he was even, close to a great hire.
Worked under his Hall of fame daddy in HS. A program he just had to maintain. At Bama, you done see that every asst looks great just maintaining what is already a juggernaut program. Oh yeah and Ga only gets top 5 players every year.
He has never had to build any program.

Just go and look and your eyes will be opened.

That may well be but I don't think going through the motions is going to be enough. Recruits aren't going to want to play for a guy that's just going through the motions. The results may not be any better if he shows some fire but the optics would certainly be better.

Pruitt was hired because no one else would take the job.

You have a copy of his acceptance letter do you?

Matt O’Hagan, Leach’s agent: “Thanks Matt, the people we worked with the past two days who are associated with the Vols search were professional and thorough. We negotiated earnestly and in good faith and feel we had reached and agreed to a deal. We hope that UT sees the tremendous value in having Mike Leach as their football coach.

Mike Leach would have taken Tennessee job, according to former Vols AD

Do you need a YouTube video of Leach saying it himself?

Fair enough. He was interested. But he isn’t here is he?

Pruitt is the type of guy who has the mindset of don’t judge my performance based off of one game.(for this season) I think he will take his bruises and lumps when all 12 games are in the books.

I once worked with a guy who laid floors who was the same way. Some people would stay in the house and try to micro manage his every move, but he would simply tell them wait until the job is finished before you start telling me what to do. Pruitt has same mindset. Hopefully he gets it fixed
